I beleive it should work, but continuous writes actually wear out SSD's. They can be read infinite times, but if you keep writing to them the memory cells wear out. Depending on the tech, each cell might only be good for a few hundred writes - for normal PC use this is fine, but for surveillance that gets used up quite quickly.

Either use a larger drive so it goes through fewer write cycles or use a 2.5" mechanical drive.
