    Have v1 and it's excellent.

Why use it over just the phone app ? Well this is always on as soon as you're in the car. No need to ever touch the phone. Better microphone too.

Now is this version better than v1 ? Worth upgrading ?

Most phones less than 5 years can do hands free voice commands. I use mine, its just a setting you have to turn on.

And give them allllll of your data - including your driving history. Lovely.

In the same way that you’re giving everyone all your data by carrying your phone around with you, browsing this forum and using the inter webs for “free”. It’s the price of entry don’t you know!

I have a MK1... Gets confused with phone attached to Bluetooth.... Had a similar issue with a Garmin/Alexa satnav...

What would you use these for?

At home, I really only use it for turning the lights on and off.  My car already does that itself.
