Exact opposite Meaco breakdown a lot more than Ecoair one's, I've got DD1 classic & DD1 simple from 2017 still going strong and used all year round. The Meaco's just to expensive and do not work as well and the two I had both failed more than once and gave them up. (edited)

Dessicant ones will use more energy as they use heat and can also work in temperature as low as freezing. They are alsouch more efficient than condensing versions.that may use half the power but unless ideal environment it would actually take more energy to pull out the same amount of water.

Also dessicant do give off warm air so can have dual purpose.

They do have a slight smell to them when in use mind.

Disregarding times and focussing on amount of water it can pull from the air, the dessicant version will do it in lot less time than a conventional condensor so will cost less overall

Compressor waste so much energy freezing and defrosting in low temperatures . Plus lots of compressor noise .

Ive got the pink larger version, over 4 years old and still going strong, use it to dry laundry, warm and dehumidify north facing room and conservatory, money well spent. (edited)

Seems a lot of wattage for a 7.5l one.

I believe my EcoAir 18l one is a max of not more than 300watts and that's not a desiccant one?

So your comparison is pointless then!

Mine leaks during use, have to use it in a tray, wouldn't buy again.

That doesn't sound very good. Surely that a fault, unless it was damaged in transit?

Either way you should get it replaced, if its still in warranty. Or are you like the royal navy, that accept things that leak and don't work properly!

Got a bigger model, which looks better built than this. I use it 4-6 hours everyday, two year now, no problems so far and very efficient, I'm very impressed. I would suggest to spend bit more for the better models, I think I got mine around £220

I have two of these and they are absolutely amazing. I have three dehumidifiers. I over-watered the carpets whilst cleaning so had to buy them. These machines by far pulls the most water out, despite all rated to pull the same.
