Great price, still £1.15 for diesel at my local Tesco's

Your local Tesco's what?
Heh. Guf oil
Aquaslim26/04/2020 17:11

Still overpriced...

Fuel duty – Currently set at 57.95 pence a litre, this accounts for approximately 50% of a litre of fuel

VAT – Currently set at 20%, VAT is applied to petrol purchases. Any change to the fuel price will be subject to this tax.

Cost of petrol – This involves the cost of the raw element (crude oil) and its refinement at the plant. This element accounts for around 27% of a litre of fuel.

Retailer Profit – Typically – and perhaps surprisingly - retailers receive only a small profit from the sale of every litre – around 5%

Can’t see it getting much cheaper without government action.

It's wasted on HUKD

I really don't understand why people call it Tesco's (or Asda's, for that matter).

Who know's
Oh the days when petrol was a 3 digit number... I remember when it first went over 99.9p, my local shell garage had to stick the ‘1’ on the outside of the number frame because there weren’t enough digits.
Bit of a journey for me (aintree)

1st time filled I up with petrol it was 37.7p a litre! (Ok, not quite filled up, I put in £2!)

A fivers worth on a Friday and a free glass tumbler to take home!
Tend to find I get more mpg from a tank of Gulf petrol than any other similar brand.
Thought Gulf had closed down lol.
No gulf stations near me - cold

First time I put petrol in a car, I put 4 gallons of 4* petrol and 4 shots of Redex in, and got change from a pound.
Hold off. The price will plummet further

It did. Anyone can now pay to use the brand. There is no such thing as Gulf fuel.
Hold off a couple more weeks, the price will fall further.

Also remember to use petrolprices.com or the app to find the cheapest in your area

What was the car?
my lawnmower is using more petrol than the car
Never thought I'd see it below £1 again

Find your nearest Gulf station by location

I presume each station sets it's own price?

Cheaper than Whitchurch. Damn god it! Don't think the local constabulary would be overly impressed if I popped up to buy some...
40548032-c54RD.jpgall robbing gits near me, it's almost like there's a bit of price fixing going on.

I remember putting in £5 of 4* and driving around the whole Friday night
Damn I thought 102.7 nearby was good
store specific as a gulf station in Kilmarnock today was 101.9 for unleaded today - still cheaper than Asda and Tesco's nearby it tho
Nice to see somewhere back under a pound. It won’t last forever but still, good old days!
