I recently bought an Aeron from this independent refurbisher (all he does is office clearances) and honestly, it came like new and the chap Richard is excellent.

Because I chose an unusual colour (Green), it was £350 inc. delivery and I can't see me ever needing to repair the thing.
If I did, he has a million components in stock he can send out.

Oooo nice I’ve been looking for a good one. How long was delivery?

Bear in mind you can get some of these chairs for less from authorised resellers - I got a Verus Triflex a couple of years ago for more than 20% off the Herman Miller price (from here officefurniturescene.co.uk/off…ack). It had more customisation options. Comes with the proper warranty too.

You are right with this, but if need to claim on the warranty, looks like need to wait for the company you bought it with to raise with Herman Miller, as appose to dealing with HM yourself

I've had my eye on the Mirra 2 with a few authorised resellers, for example its here for £800 - Herman Miller Mirra 2 Office Chair. Butterfly Back | Back2

But with the 20% (and further potential 10%) it bridges the gap in price and may aswell go direct (edited)

Is an Aeron the go to?

You can't go wrong with it

You would mad to buy new. Refurbished or second hand from ebay or a reputable company like Corporate Spec will save you hundreds. I got a nearly new Sayl for £300 last month.

waiting for a 95% off everything to afford.

Office clearance companies flog used HM stuff for very cheap.

Currently sat on a £861 chair I paid £140 for, not a mark on it.
    stu1892's avatar
    And are these companies online?
  7. Kidsteruk's avatar
Also, they have an eBay outlet worth checking too. I paid less than £700 for my aeron
  8. bri70's avatar
Also consider the ebay outlet as there are some bargains to be had. I got my Aeron from here and it was as new (may well have been new). Lacking in warranty but mine has been faultless for a couple of years and used daily on long days.

Clicked thinking “oooh I could do with a new chair, maybe I can get one for £50 or…. Jesus!”

    I’m sure they’re brilliant though!
    crabby09's avatar
Yup they're great... And they basically don't age, so grab a second hand bargain now the work from home bubble has burst even at 20% off I can't justify new.

Just the three tracking cookies on the outgoing link, nice job there HUKD.

FYI Pepper employees, copy and paste still works so good luck figuring out how to get paid from that! 😁

Linked Aeron price is £1,070.40, cant find one thats £896.80
    SirBlackhand's avatar
Why do you seem so opposed to Pepper making money? Do you think building, hosting and maintaining this website and app is free? :/

Like many have said, would love one but even this "sale" they are overpriced, I dont mind paying a premium for high quality, but not this much!

In before the £50 chair crew check-in. I've had about 7 HMs now and the Embody (w/ Atlas headrest) is what I've stuck with. I can get in 14 hour sessions (which I don't recommend) without feeling like death but then again I'm pretty fit.

I got this with the 25% last time. You're paying the premium for the warranty here. Is it worth it? After the last 3 price hikes, they're taking the biscuit. I'd love to see a cheaper competitor. Alt jump on FB marketplace.
    jutty0069's avatar
I recently got the Embody do you recommend the headrest? Is it worth the extra?

Thought there would be like 200ish whne I opened this deal……..

    Wonderful chairs.

Man, the Embody's price really is staggering at 50% more than an Aeron. I had an Aeron for a bit (got it second hand) and it killed me; personally I think my bum was too big for a size B.
    HottUKDealer's avatar
Yeah I didn’t get on with the Aeron. Sold it and bought a HumanScale Freedom which I much prefer
  17. nightmoon's avatar
    it is too much.
  18. Weehamish's avatar
Wow these have jumped like £300 since last year... i was gonna pick one up for around £800 but now the same model is £1070!
  19. kiran_seehra's avatar
If those prices are still an eyesore for you, i managed to pick up a fully specced alu aeron with posturefit off of ebay for 295 Just got to be patient and find the best deal!
    sivilis3d's avatar
    Used or new?
  20. spatter's avatar
They are VERY cheap on Gumtree. 290 average

Wow, I’d take one. Could probably haggle the price down a bit but yeahhh
  21. Zilema's avatar
It's well worth the money if you sit at your desk for many hours each day, but make sure you try them before you buy. I personally found the Embody uncomfortable but absolutely loved the aeron and ended up buying one.

Rather but sofa. My buttocks don't deserve this (edited)

Really good deal but on last Black Friday there was Herman Miller discount and Quidco offered the 20% (up to £400) cashback. Not sure if this deal will come up this year or not.
    dark_shadow's avatar
Quidco declined for me - was really annoyed
  24. duplextrousers's avatar
The newsletter 10% doesn't appear to work alongside the sale price
    thevman2k3's avatar
nope. looking for another discount. There was redhat which doesnt work any longer
  25. loomax's avatar
869 for office chain is a joke, make me wonder if it’s 4 or 6 cylinder :/
  26. Hasn1244's avatar
Just a note if you are wide you may have some difficulty. If your rear measures 70cm plus these aren't ideal to sit on and you may need another solution as I realised.
    Shinobei's avatar
You need the big booty mirra 2 for that.
  27. ishybon's avatar
My Dad has one of these and whenever I sit in it I'm incredibly jealous. If I were wfh I'd probably bite the bullet - if in doubt & you use your chair a lot, DO IT!!

I have a Logitech x HM Embody - purchased directly from the HM gaming website. I had an issue with it; they replaced it without too much fuss for a brand-new chair.

What's more, is that the defect seems to have been addressed already in the new chair, so I am guessing it was somewhat of a common issue and they have proactively fixed it on newer models, which is great to see.

I recently purchased the Atlas headrest from a UK-authorised seller, so I received it within a few days with no import tax issues! I love it, and it really completes the chair for me. (edited)
    gupz85's avatar
What issue did you have with the Embody, if you don’t mind sharing?
  29. BadMutha5's avatar
These are good chairs, I bought one second hand before lockdown, and my back has been grateful ever since.

Some thing you’ve got to spend money on for your health. If you wfh a lot a Sayr chair from Herman miller is ideal. You can buy cheaper from third party or refurbished.

I have an Aeron, an Embody, two Ollin single monitor arms, two of the Ollin laptop and tablet mounts and the Monto sit/stand desk thingy, and can confirm that each product is engineered with excellence.

One thing to note: the Aeron forces you in an upright position which is good for working but not the best fit for lounging. E.g., you cannot sit cross-legged pretzel style on or lean back comfortably to watch a movie.

I have 32-inchers on the monitor arms and they are simultaneously very sturdy and quite easy to move around, and offer great range of motion. I'm not even a paid shill

I have these at work, and I was insanely surprised when they told me they cost over a grand.
We had other ones before these, they were 4k each.

Lots of confliction on sizing, is there somewhere in the North west where they sell these at retail in a store- I.e You can sit on them and try them out like they used to do in PC world/Staples ect?
  34. steveex's avatar
Have an Embody. Would recommend. First (office) chair I've owned that I find possible to spend hours in without ever really being aware of it.

I have a HM and recommend everyone to buy a Steelcase Leap v2 instead.

Just got a Mirra 2 a week ago and holy moly is this thing amazing compared to my old chair. The amount of support it offers throughout the entire body is fantastic and I can sit for far longer without pain now. I wish I had done this a decade ago, my back would probably be in far better shape than it is now.

For anyone thinking of getting a HM or similar I would recommend you check out BTODtv on youtube since they give excellent summaries of each chair. Office chairs are not a one size fits all solution, you really need to do some research to find out what chair will be suitable for your height and weight. For people over 6 feet, I'd personally recommend an Aeron size C or the Mirra 2.

Finally get one that is used or refurbished as you can easily get them under half the retail price. You will miss out on the 12yr warranty but there's a good chance you won't even need it as these chairs are so well constructed.
