Have to agree. Fake leather peeled off in a year. Bought a secretlab chair now. Cheapo chairs just don't last.

I stopped buying chairs at this price point about 4 years ago after having many fail on me within 2 to 3 years. I'm now sitting on a Herman Miller chair. My Back and Coccyx feel so much better for it. Yes, they cost far more. But you can pick one up second hand for a good price. And they will still last longer than a chair tthat is shown above.

Its marketing spiel to make the product sound better than it actually is.

I own this chair and its not been very good at all, the padded bit you sit on has essentially gone in about 12 months so I you end up sat on wood. If you don't intend to use it everyday then it could be fine but wouldn't recommend for everyday/8 hours use a day.

Price has now increased to £76. If I'd paid that I'd be really pissed. This chair, I'd say, is more suitable for a child than an adult.

Universal_Fighter

You are right. Fake review I guess ! Now a days how ppl using marketing Strategy!

Universal_Fighter

You sure that's the right product you are talking? I am returning this, as it is very poor quality and can't even sit on it! I feel like I am sitting on a half chair!

Received this morning and assembled earlier. Have to say first impressions are that its okay, but only just. I suppose I can't really complain at an office chair which only costs £46. Think of it as a stopgap chair until you can buy a proper one. Be warned, I'd say the three reviews currently on Amazon are most likely fake. Three reviews, all glowing, left over three days by three "people" who only have a single review to their credit and these are for this chair.

Thanks for the update. I wanted to purchase the chair for my mother, but I'll avoid this chair.

Felix.360

This chair is complete rubbish. As stated above, the rear is large enough maybe for a child, but as an adult it has the bones of my back rocking over two metal bars which have this ridiculous saggy mesh between them. It kind of feels like garden furniture or something from a cheap fairground ride. :|

Felix.360

Update: Made this up today just for you. Assembly was frustrating and could be dangerous to anybody without a gram of inclination due to the absence of any textual instruction and very minimal visual indication. On getting it together, I mean, yeah. It's underwhelming really. Attached photograph below of what it is replacing, the back has no adjustability up down or tilt forward and back, I didn't expect that, but yeah it's just underwhelming. Maybe it's more comfortable than what it replaced, maybe not.. Hard to say. I can update after doing a shift wfh in it. It's making a bid difference right now straight away actually to have some support at the upper back as opposed to none.

Felix.360

Too large and heavy to cycle home with, will update tmr hopefully.

You must have had it to tight, underneath theres a kind of oil filter looking thing, just loosen that and you can tilt it back if you prefer that position

Thanks for your post. Didnt know about this IKEA chair however as a result of your post I got a used but practically new Markus from ebay for £20!

Hobo_United

i bought this chair and sitting on it right now, I like the back shape and the tilt as it holds your posture well, but the bottom part is just not supportive. I can feel the metal bar at the front of the seat, I weigh about 75kg so would have thought I was in the norm range for the chair shape etc. i will return it for one with a soft base.

NickReid

Completely agree, IKEA just not got the lumbar/mesh base nailed yet unfortunately

NickReid

This one has a few tilt locks on it. We have aerons in the office and half of them have been replaced with that office hippo and it’s a godsend. Great chair for great money, also saves money as you don’t need to call Barclays and remortgage the house for an Aeron

poulsej

This is just my opinion but I wouldn't touch ikea office chairs with a bargepole. I had 2 of their Flintan chairs with mesh backs. Both of them started creaking in the seat base after 2 years. I'm 80kg and when I took the base apart I found the steel had cracked. I sent pictures but they didn't care. I was tempted by a Markus but put off by ikea. Plus I now want a mesh seat as well as back. Might get a used Herman miller and be done with it.
