About this deal

I've been waiting for a 512gb Micro SD to drop to £30 again. Currently this is the only one I can find online that is now that others have expired.

The camels state this is the cheapest it's ever been on Amazon too. Sold directly from them.

I've stuck to Samsung Evo's previously, but this seems like a good option for a known brand, good price, from amazon, with decent read and write speeds.

With AliExpress offering 5 day delivery to compete with Temu etc. I'm finding excellent branded deals on microSD cards for a few pounds. I bought a genuine Samsung Evo 256GB (tested capacity and speeds with software and functions exactly as one I've purchased on Amazon previously) for £8.

Personally, I wouldn't take the risk. Not least of all for all the random sellers on aliexpress, the fake memory cards that many sell, and the difficulty I've had with refunds with them (aliexpress and the seller offered me no help, PayPal insisted I pay more than the price of the item in postage to send the item back before they refund me, and don't refund postage anymore). So if you get a good genuine one like you have that's great! But personally with how cheap the deals are getting on amazon etc, I'd always stick to a reputable UK seller now. (edited)

Ditto - it might be that the £29.99 price was only around extremely briefly. Way back when I pre-ordered my day 1 Steam Deck, I found this very card brand new on eBay for £29 and immediately bought it (I've never seen it as cheap again). It's worked well in my Deck since then and you'd be surprised at how quickly the Deck loads from cards like this (yes, slower than the internal SSD, but not by a huge margin).

I would be careful with these sd cards. I bought a 256gb before for an android device and it kept giving me issues and getting corrupted.

These days I just stick to the Samsung ones

Would this be ok for a dash cam (Garmin Mini 2), or should i look for something with an increased write speed?

    Many Thanks
