I bought an iPhone 13 pro max 256 from giffgaff. It was as new, Apple warranty until Jan 29th 2023 and 100% battery health. Paid 899, they didn't send a charging cable so knocked off another £25. Very happy for £875, dont forget GiffGaff give 12 months warranty too

These offers from Giffy were cheaper a few weeks back. The price of old stuff usually goes down not up. Hold of for a bit and they will go back down. Don't be drawn in to paying more than you should.

Ordered the 256GB Sierra Blue 13 Pro for £809 yesterday, will let you all know how it goes. Should arrive today

It arrived earlier today, works fine, in brilliant condition - haven’t noticed any flaw whatsoever yet. Quite happy with it

Battery health is at 100%. I wonder what they “refurbish” in these devices anyway

This is a fantastic deal got it last time it came around. Phone is mint , 100 % battery plus year or so Apple care . You can’t go wrong . You don’t get Apple box though that’s it. But for the saving . These phones seem to be customer returns . With few days use (edited)

However, I've heard of a few others with a tad less than 100%.

I'm waiting for it to go back to this price, and hopefully they get the green one in... Then I'll bite!

Is it risky to buy a refurb like this, from a battery perspective? Does anyone have any experience of this and care to share? My wife is refusing to consider refurbished phones, but the way the kids treat them it's almost a waste of money buying new I feel...

These are more likey to be customer returns. Even if they’re not the battery should be okay as the phone has not even been out more then a year.

I would be more worry of a refurbish phone if they’re a few years old.

By saying that I personally would never buy a refurbish phone unless they’re direct from manufactory. However you can definitely get good deal buying refurbish and most people won’t know the difference between refurbish and new other then packaging.

I bought a few weeks back and phone is immaculate apart from a slight smudge on one of the sides. Apple warranty till Nov 2022

Only downside is no product box which could affect resale value further down the line.

Do they charge VAT on these? Or do they fall under the margin scheme or whatever it's called? Basically, I want to be able to claim back the VAT

I'd also like to know this. I know the Vodafone refurbs posted a while back had VAT on them which you could claim back. Not sure about giff gaff.

Recently bought one of these and my phone battery health is still at 100% for those wondering. All seems perfectly fine to me so far. My sister in law did buy one and find it was blacklisted however, but GiffGaff quickly refunded her and gave her some money off as a good will gesture.

I bought an “excellent” iPhone from them a month ago. Cosmetically it was perfect - not a scratch on it. The only issue was the battery health was down to 91%. But I can live with that.

Mine arrived in minimal packaging (foldable box) but like others have mentioned already, the phone was in immaculate condition with 100% battery health and 1 year of apple care.
