    If your reader has the capacity you can download as much as possible before the end of the two months then put the device in airplane mode - then read the books when you want to well beyond the two months subscription.

    Thanks, worked for me too. I always make the most of it when the free months come up (about once a year), but don't feel like it's worth full price when there are so many good books that go on sale for 99p.

    Each time I get the free offer I go through my favourite genres, and go to the most popular and highest-rated lists and look through the kindle unlimited options and try a bunch of authors I haven't heard of. Have to be willing to stop if the book hasn't grabbed you, but probably 1 in 4 authors turns out to be really good.

    Some recommendations I've done over the years:
    Fantasy: 4 trilogies by Philip C. Quaintrell. Also anything by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Lindsey Broker, Jeff Wheeler.
    Sci-fi: We are Bob series by Dennis Taylor. Also, a series by D J Holmes, another by Craig Alanson
    Romance: Sariah Wilson
