I wouldn't touch this shower with a bargepole. Took a previous MSE 99p deal and every month was charged £6.99 then had to go online and get the charge reversed. Each time their assistants assured that it wouldn't happen again, but it did each and every month. They can't be trusted.

For what it’s worth, mines been flawless - 94p every month, no bother. Great deal.

I'm already on Lebara, with a deal that ran out a few months ago (i.e I'm now paying the price after 6 months). Can I switch to this and keep the same number?
    KodaBear's avatar
If you port out and back in yes. Get something like the 1p Lyca SIM to do this and then you can still call or text for the day or two your number is with their network.

There’s no way to directly jump to this if you’re already with Lebara. You have to be a ‘new’ customer.

can you limit spending on these ie not go over x amount of data and get charged for it ?
    t3r4's avatar
It's automatically limited, you can't spend over your allowance without topping up in advance with credit.

It's not expired, look in the green underneath Lebara. Offer still On

Does the 6 months/start of contract begin from the date the SIM is shipped or when activated? If order on 24th Apr when the offer and receive the SIM after that date, is the promo still valid?
    KodaBear's avatar
You can order it today and have up to 90 days from order to activate the SIM. Only when you activate it will the offer start.

I had one of my Sims sitting for 4-5 months and was able to activate it just fine and continued with the contract

Anyone know the best option to use in Turkey?
    shadzz's avatar
Sky mobile 2 pounds per day

Used in portugal and was quiet handy. As someone said above it runs on vodafone network so as long as you have good signal you are good. London seems to be fine.
  9. AverageJoeseph's avatar
When checking out this offer it says this authorises recurring payments from my card. I thought it wasn't a rolling contract?
    KodaBear's avatar
It’s just for auto renewal so it will buy the top up each month for the value of your bundle. You can opt out if this at any time once set up. No contract applies.
  10. krazykush's avatar
Can this be added to a Lebara sim that I can buy from a supermarket for 99p, or does it have to be delivered as part of the order? Going abroad and could do with this, but won't arrive in time by post.
    KodaBear's avatar
It must be a new SIM delivered from the online order with this specific promotional tariff pre loaded.

Their competitor Lyca do eSIM if that helps though. No need to wait for delivery and similar priced deals.
  11. smileypete's avatar
Voted Hot! But just to add... USwitch have some similar deals on Lebara:

    uswitch.com/mob…ile

BUT the cheaper introductory price is only for 3 months, so best work out what's better for your needs. (edited)
  12. funkygal's avatar
I'm transferring/porting to Three today, can I port over straight away to Lebara or should I wait until tomorrow?
    mutley1's avatar
it is best to wait until tomorrow. people have had issues with trying to port the same day. your number need to settle with three before you port it again.
  13. prynolfc's avatar
Hey everyone, I ordered the 12gb sim for £2.99, is it right that my card has been already charged the £2.99 as soon as i made the order even though I have not activated the sim yet? Was that just a charge for delivery or something? Or am i now signed up & going to be charged £2.99 every month?

I wasn't planning on activating the sim straight away until i sorted out cancelling my O2 plan in 2 months once my airtime rewards is used up... (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
You pay upfront for the first month. Then the second month is charged one month after you activate.
  14. Zameen's avatar
Hi all quick question I ordered this Friday but have been charged £2.99, I don't plan on activating it for 2 months. I thought it was a case of you have 90 days to activate and the monthly charges start from when you activate? Have things changed? (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
That’s correct. Activate it when you’re ready. But you always pay the first month upfront at the time of order. The next payment won’t be taken until one month after activation.
  15. whydreamless's avatar
Is it 5g? I have one that only shows 4g but rarely works.
    KodaBear's avatar
It is. But you need to have Vodafone 5G coverage which isn’t very widespread at the moment. Also Pixel devices may not be able to utilise 5G fully with this network.
  16. badgerbrush's avatar
Be aware that Wifi and 4G calling will only work on a certain phones . Mainly those supplied by Vodafone and running their firmware .
I complained as my Xiaomi X4 5G could not be configured to work on these and got an extra 2 GB of data added to my 5 GB deal plus a £15 credit as compensation . Otherwise Lebara works flawlessly for me and I get 5G where available . (edited)
    Sqsq's avatar
On my Xiaomi Redmi 9 some contacts have the "HD" in a little square next to them (High Definition calling aka WiFi calling). It works sometimes but it's hit and miss. It never works for me when I'm using WiFi from Tesco, Morrisons, Home Bargains. No mobile signal in those so have to resort to "Marco Polo" comms. (edited)

When you register can you use a temporary email address or do you need an actual email address you can access. As you can’t use email addresses where you have used them before? Does an email address serve any purpose in the future when porting numbers etc?
    KodaBear's avatar
If you sign in to your Lebara account first before clicking 'Get deal' you can add up to 4 accounts to your existing Lebara profile. No need for another email address.
  18. oranjuice's avatar
I'll be ordering this for no reason other than roaming. 3 months till I'm away still but can activate it just before we go away. Does anyone know if the billing cycle starts on the day you activate or is it first day of month?
    KodaBear's avatar
There is no billing cycle. It's a pay as you go network. You buy this and do your first top up on the day of ordering. When you activate it starts your first monthly bundle and then a month after activation it will auto top up with another bundle.
  19. AverageJoeseph's avatar
Can I keep my giffgaff number?
  20. Sat_Johal's avatar
Do they do this in an e-sim offer?
    KodaBear's avatar
No eSIM support with Lebara at all
  21. A_wRu's avatar
Just activated sim with 12GB for new customer offer. Tried to bring existing number from Lyca to Lebara by filling online form and see the earliest it can port in is 12th April. Rang Lebara Customers Service for earlier dates but being told that it can't be done earlier because of non-working days coming up. It will take 6 days for number transfer which is too long and a bit inconvenience. (edited)
    KodaBear's avatar
That's correct due to easter. Nothing to do with Lebara. You'll find this is the case with any other network you try to port this to.

Your number will remain active with the previous SIM until the port date. So don't worry about not being reachable or anything like that between now and then.
  22. IamOpica's avatar
So let's say after 89 days you activate the SIM have you already paid the first month so have 5 months left or does the 6 months start on the 90th day.

Hope that's easy to understand. (edited)
    Mooney_70's avatar
You get the full 6 months as the second payment is taken 30 days after you activate the SIM. While 90 days is the official length of time you have to activate the SIM. Some people have activated them after the 90 day period and the offer has still be applied. But to be on the safe side I'd activated it within the 90 day period. You could of course order up to 4 Sims on one account and try your luck and see if they still apply the offer after the 90 day period?

Been with Lebara since last August, started on the 1p deal but haven't seen it come back since. I'm still saving way more than I was on EE, absolutely zero complaints

Thanks for the heads up OP, bought the 12gb - £2.99 for six months. I had to go through the MSE site though, the above link produced an error.

The MSE site also shows other deals that are not accessible with the 'Get Deal' button above.

I've been on the Lebrara 6 month £1.94 deal and had no problems. It has come to an end now so I'm off hopping around. Have bought a £1 Lyca sim; 6gb and a 1000 mins, for the porting if it helps others to know.
    euoi's avatar
Interested to know how your porting in and out goes with Lyca 🏻

Works for me but I cannot see the 10Gb deal either from MSE or from the deal link???

    As above

I think 10GB is meant to read 5G

Good the deals have been extended. Doesn’t bode much for a 1p deal though. In the nearby future. (edited)

    good deal
  31. gardner1's avatar
I expect prices to drop a bit more to match Lyca
    KodaBear's avatar
Lebara have stopped playing that game. I wouldn't expect prices to drop any lower than this.
  32. Jasejtg's avatar
Do we ever see these deals on the 30gb plan? I’ve only ever seen them on the smaller data plans
    innocent's avatar
You can have 30gb plan but half price (£15) only for first 3 months pm
  33. Junesama's avatar
Waiting for it to drop to 1p for a few days
    sanmarinojR's avatar
Don't think it will drop .. They won the battle.

For what it’s worth my research when shopping for Lebara deals suggest only MSE offer 6 month reduced whereas the other comparison sites are 3 months reduced.
    euoi's avatar
The uSwitch 3 month deal is for 15GB though, which might suit some more as the full price at the end of the deal is 6.95. They periodically do the promo for 6 months.
  35. Ulti's avatar
Shame it's not 5p per month anymore for the 3GB option I guess as these are extended till 24th April I'll give the Lyca one a try and see how they are and if they're worse than my main O2 SIM then I'll jump back.
  36. bestdeals22's avatar

Can you move from a pay as you go lebara sim to this monthly plan?
    mutley1's avatar
You would have to port out and back again if you want to keep your number
  38. funkygal's avatar
Best network to port out to then back to Lebara? I've read horror stories with Lyca losing your number!!
    mutley1's avatar
    Three or Asda
  39. eacesar's avatar
Already have a Lebara SIM with no active plan. Could this deal be add to my current Lebara SIM, keeping my existing number?
    Rayleigh's avatar
Nope, you'll have to port out to another network and then port into lebara again
  40. TiredParent's avatar
    Can existing customers use it?
    aLV426's avatar
Doubt it - I think you have to port out & back in if you want to keep you existing Lebara number and take advantage of this deal - I'll chat to them tomorrow to confirm.
