Why do I always have to add the full detail on the India roaming - it is misleading to mention it, indeed group it with EU roaming & not provide the relevant detail - EU roaming universally has unlimited calls & texts, but India roaming has a strict FUP on both!

    Switch off auto renew.
Port out...to new Sim..(Which ever network).
Log back into Lebara..(will show up with Sim Delinked)..MUST DO THIS.
Click the deal, will take you to lebara mobile offer.
Purchase it wont ask email address as it already logged in with your detail.
Wait for Sim to come through..(port out from temp network).
Sim arrives give lebara PAC code....enjoy for 5 months.

No need for new email or payment....

What if the next renewal on the SIM is due on 20th June ? Can I order a new SIM, port out to three network for example and then port back in? I guess my question is does the new SIM only have to be ordered once you've porter out so it's been delinked on the account ?

Anyone know how the signal is with Vodafone network in India?
    T2G's avatar
Lebara does not have a tie up with Vodafone India. It piggy backs on any network it can connect to, therefore connectivity is poor.

My personal experience was data did not work even in New Delhi. Only calls and texts worked.

Called CS and they asked me to check some of settings but nothing came of the calls to them.

I used a local sim for my travel. (edited)

If I turn off auto renew this month, will the plan still continue until the end (in 4 more months) ?
    81maeve_'s avatar
If you turn off the auto renew, you'll cancel your plan and the discount will be removed from your account. You need to keep it on for the next 4 months, if that's how long you want to use it. Put a reminder in your calendar when you need to turn it off so you're not charged the standard price.

Cheap idea for those going on holiday to avoid the £2 a day charge from other networks.

Only email address, I just create a new Gmail one and always pay by the same PayPal account as my very first order with them
    F1re's avatar
Gmail emails are not case sensitive and ignore punctuation so bobbygg@gmail.com would also receive the mail sent to bobby-GG@gmail.com or Bobby.gg@gmail.com etc

I use the trick where I need to use a "different" email on something. If you check the message headers you can keep track what email address they sent it to but it arrives in same inbox.

This company is cheap for a reason non existent customer service so good if it works, but be mindful that if any issues you are on your own

I got number that I want to keep alive, I don't need to make calls, only to receive. I am on Three but their coverage is zero in the area, and Lebara is ok(my main number is with them).

Does anyone know for sure about expiry period(sim number and credit) of inactive cards? Their current page says 90 days, it was 84 before, but I'm not sure if this is correct.

Also does 1kb data per 90 days (or whatever the period is) will be considered enough as a "chargeable event" to keep number and balance?

I know I should ask their support for this kind of questions, but in my experience, they will just guess it.
    wdh's avatar
Get an Asda payg sim. Put minimum credit on it, and as long as you do something chargeable every six months (set a 5 month reminder!) the number will stay alive and able to receive calls.
Asda use the Vodafone network, as do Lebara.
Your minimum usage is a 4p text.
Minimum top up used to be just £1, BUT this may have changed when they switched to Vodafone.

I have called them and they have been very helpful and was able to solve the problem immediately when it came to billing.

However, I would add a disclaimer to the porting number out and back in...

There is a very very small possibility that something may go wrong in the number porting process. In that case be prepared for a lot of aggro. Just keep this in mind.

It's why I hate porting my number just for a small discount, unless there is other compelling reasons. (edited)

Same here. If you just save less than £10 and you are spending an hour in total on the phone or writing email. It will cost you more if you include your time.

Would rather pay Sky’s £2 a day than £14.99MB in South Africa. No thanks. However if you holiday in India then it’s a cracking roaming deal. Horses for courses I suppose

    Not for you then.
How many people do holiday in South Africa vs how many people do holiday in Europe ??

Yes, you can port from any other UK mobile network. If you are with Lebara already then you have to port to another network then port back to the new SIM. (edited)
