Yes would say that’s true. They’ll want the bigger rides at Thorpe park or Alton towers. My kids are 6 and 8 and this is perfect for them and a relief for us we’ve moved on from listening to the peppa pig theme at paultons park.

I'd tend to disagree with this. We went a couple weeks back and was pleasantly surprised.
The new Mythica area is great with the Sky Lion being very popular. They have also added in new build experiences (The Brick and Build the World) which gives some more hands on Lego activities. Shows are on every half hour (Pirates, Lego Friends, 4d cinema, meet and greets)
Yes food is expensive but that is the same at all attractions.

Never mind it was right in the middle of the pandemic and their measurements had absolutely no sense when you have 200 people crowded in a space the same size as 2 living rooms.

Yeah same, we went August last year. It was that bad I left a scathing review on Google, expensive, parking ticket that wasn't checked, no reduced items or any deviation from msrp in the shop, queue times were ridiculous for every ride resulting in us only getting on 5 (ninjago and rest were little ones!!!) and it was like legoland just crammed as many people as possible in to recoup lost earnings .. or so it felt like that. It was THE worst theme park experience I've ever had unfortunately ...

My advice for anyone going (we are going to try this next time) go during the week when your child has an inset day or teacher training ... any other time, it ain't worth the hassle ...

Yes, que up time is ridiculous, like 1 to 2 hours. But we got good rides , missed out on alot too. Still worth it at a decent price. For full price it's not so worth going. Cant cancel and advance booking could not guarantee good weather. You need good dry weather to enjoy the day. Lots of walking and seeing.

I agree. A year or two ago, it was looking very tired and run down. But it was owned by Merlin, not LEGO for years and was not maintained.
LEGO’s owners bought Merlin just before Covid arrived, at the end of 2019 and it’s obvious they are spending money at Legoland. The shop was completely upgraded, there are new rides and even the cleaning just seems better.
The papers said they paid £5bn+ for the whole Merlin business globally, so they obviously see it as an investment for the future.
We went back a few weeks ago and we’re impressed with the improvements. 🏼

Worth considering journey times from the hotel to the park, as it’s not exactly local. Add some rush hour traffic into the mix and I’d estimate you could be up to an hours drive away

Stayed at the Legoland Hotel for 3 nights last week, 2 days in the park with 6 & 3 year old, both loved it, plenty to do to fill the day.

Most rides have minimum height of 90cm, and they are strict on this, our 3 Yr old is 91cm thankfully!

Food is expensive in the park, same is true for most theme parks though.

Friday was much quieter and easier to get on rides than the Saturday, never queued for more than 20 minutes though for a ride.

The Lego shop is very well stocked and includes lots of rare/exclusive sets, albeit some a bit higher than RRP and they don't offer VIP points

The place is poor value for money for sure. Extremely long wait for rides. Limited shows.

Chessington is slightly better as it includes a zoo and better play areas.

Get a cheap flight from Edinburgh to Denmark (Billund) and the original Legoland is literally next door. I once did a holiday to Denmark by literally finding the cheapest flights out of UK to Europe and that was it, something stupid like £15 return. We built the holiday from there, booking attraction tickets online beforehand to reduce costs. One of our best family holidays ever.
