Wow that’s a crazy price for dolby atmos from a decent brand, really want a Sonos set up but this is making me think twice

Cheap indeed, but DA is an overstatement on a 2.1 soundbar.

I had a cheaper Dolby atmos soundbar (Was Sony I think?) and after getting rid of my old soundbar was expecting great things. However, I was completely underwhelmed by it, didn't sound any better than my old Dolby Digital soundbar. Spent weeks playing with settings etc and it never really performed. Ending up selling it to recoup my losses.
I think to get 'proper' Atmos you need a proper set up with ceiling speakers etc, I think the soundbars with it are a bit of a gimmick.

    Yeah not for £154 though

This seems super cheap for a dolby atmos sound bar

Dolby Atmos on 2.1 is an overstatement. I have 9.1.4 soundbar system, and DA is at a push. (edited)

Please don't expect Dolby Atmos from this soundbar. I'm surprised they are allowed to state the fact. I have the LG S95QR
9.1.5 ch version which has rear speakers and as good as is... Barely just manages Atmos height reproduction.

Atmos from 2.1 channels, the .1 bit is the subwoofer which means the soundbar has a left and right channel in it LoL

    Marketing departments love sucker consumers

Which soundbar is better - this or the Sony HTG700? Bought the Sony for 249 which is in my budget but LG obviously cheaper. Keen to go for the best of the two

3.1 is better than 2.1, but it depends how much is the difference in price. On both, Dolby atmos is there to tick boxes. You can't expect DA from 2.1 or 3.1.

    But is it any good?

For the money it looks like a great option.

    This or LG SN5?

I say this on nearly every LG soundbar post, so sorry to be a broken record but LG soundbars have not impressed me and the 300w power rating is nothing but lies. The power consumption of 38watts tells the real story.

Not saying this is bad, as I haven't heard this particular model, but I'd be cautious.

I see nothing particularly special about this model compared to others in this price range, except Dolby Atmos support, but others don't have great things to say about it given the other comments here (edited)

Price is coming up as 349 for me. Do I need to put in a code?
