People say these are bad... But 3 year guarantee. Truth be told I've never had an issue with these batteries. Excellent price

They'll only swap it under warranty once, I believe.

If you don't need a reliable car then knock yourself out I guess, but I doubt most have that luxury. Another £30 across 3+ years for something rock solid easily pays for the time and inconvenience of breaking down, time off the road, and going somewhere to exchange it. Assuming it doesn't happen with a replacement too...

Great brand from a reliable retailer, both absolute lies, ECP is known for being useless and the LION brand is one of the worse out there, the staff don't even test these, they just give you another.

Mine gave up on me after 22 months however I have been given free replacement from Euro car parts which is essentially same company

Check the cold cranking amp (CCA) figure against your factory battery. If it's lower then don't bother as it will struggle in the winter if the cars been parked up for a while. I checked mine afterwards that CCA was 730 (now it's 680 on the new ones) when factory battery is 800 and the exide premium is 900. Lion is part of the exide group so it's their budget battery

Yes definitely check the battery is right for your vehicle before purchase. Make sure its like-for-like or slightly higher rating than the manufacturer specs and should be okay.

    Thanks @jsd74

Maybe good for small cars but no good for my VW van. Had to remove and return it very soon after getting it.

Basically, but as you can tell they just have different deals. CP4L is sometimes cheaper and I have found it doesn't have quite the same amount of choice but occasionally you get better deals like this one

    480watthours at C/20.
Realistically 240 watthours to 50% discharge.
    £35.

If you need pure battery capacity for maybe a shed or van project, then 140 quid for 1kWhr is quite good.

Even if you dont prefer Lion batterys this offer is still 24% off Bosch Exide and or Lion batterys that are on the CP4L site.
If the Lion battery fails under 3 years which is not uncommon take it back and get a free replacement .
Two batterys for £34.57 might work for those diy motorists just make sure you pick it up instore at ECP and get a written receipt and keep it .

The 063 type battery is one of the cheapest size or types of battery probably because this size/type is very very common .....so it costs less to make.

The Bosch S4 001 battery which is type 063 with 4 years on it works out at £50.68 here so it is only £16.11p more than the Lion 063 3 year and importantly the Bosch also has much better cold weather specs below

    Lion 063 40Ah 330CCA £34.57 3 years
    Bosch S4 001 type 063 44Ah 440CCA (cold cranking amps) £50.68 4 years

So the optional deal here is the Bosch S4 001 type 063 at £50.68 vs Lion 063 at £34.57

These posts on carparts4less discounts are really all good ....keep them coming . (edited)
