It's very well equipped car, the infotainment system is great, the interior quality is top-notch and it's reasonably priced. Plus, the fuel-efficient e-Skyactiv X engine offers low CO2 emissions that’ll help with company car tax.

This includes a fuel economy of 53.3 MPG combined and 124g/km CO2 emissions from the 4 cylinder, 1998 CC engine with a 6 speed gear box. This produces 122 BHP with a top speed of 122 MPH and a 0 to 62 time of 10.4 seconds

Most Asian cars rarely do diesel because Diesel isn’t used in Asia/Australia and rarely used in North America (their core markets) and when they do,then engine is often made by / in collaboration with a European manufacturer.(and not the solid European ones,eg Renault, etc) (edited)

This is the skyactiv g engine and not the X mentioned in description, just thought I'd flag that

Do they have an automatic version? What’s the price?
    jaju123's avatar
Unfortunately like £5k more if you want auto

Mazda Skyactiv-G petrol engines are very economical. My 2018 petrol Mazda 2 1.5l 89bhp does 55-60mpg on the run and about 45mpg in the city. Real world average after nearly 30,000 miles in it is 51.6mpg (edited)

    2015 Mazda 3 2.0L petrol
I get 32-35mpg when doing short trips around town and 48-50mpg on motorway (260 mile trek to office once a month)

Decent price for a good car. Especially compared to the 15k 70 horse i10s posted a few weeks ago.

I prefer the saloon version...why do people buy boring Golfs when there's nicer options out there...50763627-X9HRy.jpg

had a new 2023 golf 2.0 diesel as a courtesy car... All interior parts make horrible noise, plus very bad multimefia screen. 30k for that 🙏🙏

I bought a new Mazda 6, 18 years ago and it has never let me down. Most reliable car I ever owned.
Only needed to replace a few factory parts (battery after 11 years, a wheel bearing after 14 years, front/rear brakes after 17 years/60k+ miles), plus tyres & wiper blades.
Main dealer prices are insane though. They quoted me £1200 for full service & belt change.

Mazda do a really nice shade of red, like vermillion - not necessarily a reason to buy one but take a look !

EDIT - Soul Red Crystal (edited)

Yeah, it's a nice colour but I heard it's very prone to chips for some reason.
Last time I saw one parked up I had a closer look and yeah, lots of chips.

I have the cousin of this car, the CX-30. Brilliant car.

I'd say if you want a bit of a luxurious interior, the trims up are worth the extra. You get so much extra tech kit and luxurious finishings inside for the money.

I've got one of these and I love it. Not that it carries any weight what an internet stranger thinks but thought I'd weigh in. Mines in Soul Red too which is a very very nice shade of red and a bit different to the monotonic greys and blacks you tend to only see these days. (edited)

Love the red. We have one with the polymetal grey and it’s lovely as well - depending on the light the colour shifts a little and will appear slightly blueish.

No no no. Just no. How did we get to the situation where a Mazda 3 is a good deal at 20k. That's just wrong. Utterly wrong
I totally understand overheads etc.......but.no. please for the love of all that is sacred on this earth take 10k and buy something else. spend the other 10k on life love and adventure. Or at least a faster older cars and faster older........

I agree but how much us a focus or Peugeot? If residuals remain good it might make sense. My car is going for 35k on autotrader today, purchased 18 months ago for 36k!

Killer depreciation, the biggest cost of motoring.
    Brett_Rafferty's avatar
Actually, the increased cost of insurance is the killer. Depreciation has been modest. 4 year old versions of this car seem to have depreciated by 6k it seems.

One of the best looking cars on sale, especially in red (edited)

Not that I have a bonnet fetish but I do like the design of the bonnet on this 3 and that leading edge where bonnet meets the grill. Seems a tad sinister

Don’t do it. The skyactiv engines are diabolical.
I’m speaking from bitter experience with a Mazda 6 that was in traction for 3 months, even the Mazda dealer’s garage couldn’t sort it.
An independent mazda specialist mechanic sorted my problems (too numerous to go into here) and advised I ditch the car asap as the engines were so bad
It was a lovely car and nice to drive until it wasn’t anymore (edited)
    nadnerb's avatar
which one exactly? there are a lot of skyactiv engines
  16. kingmustard's avatar
Temper your expectuations; this is the lowest trim (Prime-Line) of the lowest version (e-Skyactiv G) of the Mazda 3.
  17. mreriksen's avatar
    only 3 year warranty?
    Veedub's avatar
That's pretty standard for most cars these days unless you go for the Hyundais and Kia which are third world cars IMO

Anyone know what delivery times are like for this? I can’t see it mentioned
    Filthypig's avatar
Around 14 weeks it says on the linked advert.
