The multi award winning Meaco 10in Air Circulator is a thing of beauty and the fan you have been hoping for. It combines market leading DC technology with a large airflow, giving you the best of both worlds.

The noise level starts from just 20dB similar to a whisper or some rustling leaves. Awarded the prestigious Quiet Mark award for low noise products.

With the Meaco Fan you have the choice and can turn the lights on for a dim glow or keep them off, whichever as you prefer.

Many people don’t want to wake up cold in the middle of the night, use the Off Timer on the fan and it will turn off after the set hours to ensure you don’t wake up feeling too cold.

The Meaco Fan 10in Air Circulator can move a huge amount of air around your room, 1,056m³ each hour to be precise. It has multi-directional oscillation that moves air around the room keeping everyone in the room cool and not just those in the direct flow of the fan’s air.

Featured with DC technology which has three major benefits: low noise level, low running costs and a longer lifespan.

Then ECO mode will regulate its own performance depending on the room temperature. The higher the room temperature the faster the fan speed.

£90 for a 10" fan? What a waste of money.

You're obviously not the type of person that would buy this. So not sure why you felt the need to comment.

I have a home office in my garage, it gets extremely hot, I've got an Aircon unit but it gives me a sore throat. I bought two Honeywell turbo fans and a wall mounted draper fan. All did a good job, the Honeywells were about £25 each and the draper about £40.

I was then in Costco and saw a meaco for similar money to this and bought one to try, Costco is no quibble returns so nothing to lose. It's transformed my office, the fan doesn't just move left and right, it moves up and down too so the air all over is moved. I don't even need the other fans on most of the time, it's made my working environment so much nicer as I don't have all these fans making so much noise, I don't even have to leave the room to make calls now.

For me it's worth double what I paid. In fact I even tried a £350 Dyson fan at one point but that was no better than the others. (edited)

Shifts alot of air quietly, and the company is British too

This is all good and well but where you place the fan (and the time of day) is actually the most important. Assuming air temp outside your house is cooler, you want to open windows on different ends of your house, and counter intuitively, face the fan towards the window, and also about 3-5 feet away, not right in front of it.

The video below demonstrates this. It doesn't really explain, but because of the Bernoulli effect, the difference in air pressure causes air from around the stream from the fan itself to also be sucked out so you get multiples of air flow going out one window and coming in another.

Watch from about 3 mins in:

I've easiliy spent much more than that on loads of the cookie-cutter cheapo fans over the years that invariably end up making loud and annoying clicking / grinding noises from the motor, end get dumped. There is definitely a "get what you pay for" situation with fans..

You can’t just call the man a troll cause he has an opinion that differs to yours, this is hilarious.
We are in a democracy where people are allowed they own opinions specially in this website which I find educational, and he does have a valid point.

I agree with you it’s a good fan but I also think it’s still very expensive for just that a fan, it doesn’t cool the air and it’s made of Cheap flimsy plastic.

And while it works for your setup and circumstances and u can afford to pay 370, others don’t have that luxury and while it’s a good fan in comparison to your Argos 20 quid fans, I don’t think it’s good value at 110 RRP or even 90!

Because it’s a clever design let it be double the Argos fans, 40 even 50 quid but not over a 100. It’s how good it is for the money, not just how good.
Also I think u might be at risk of coming across as a troll trying to shut down and control someone else’s right to an opinion

In terms of the fan itself, I have it and I ll give an honest review as many on here helped me with their own experiences and reviews of items.

So the first fan went back to johnlewis as it kept making a clicking noise.

Honest review; no free product , don’t sell
Competition fans, not an apple fan nor an android, don’t care about 4K and all that jazz :

It’s feels cheap, the plastic quite thin in parts and somewhat bendy at the base. It also does look obviously plastic as opp to say the dyson finish (I don’t rate the dyson functionally at all).

The swing up and down feature is a marketing gimmick, i actually find it brings back down the hot air that went up as heat rises.

While the fan is directly on u, it’s excellent breeze but that works at the expense of others around as it’s a wind turbine effect, a bit like a spot light in lighting, all the air is concentrated in that spot, that why people say the fan shifts a lot more air as that’s what it feels like, in reality it’s more a case of all the air is concentrated in one narrow tunnel, while other fans have a wide spread so feels less air moved in that one spot, jet wash V shower .

Is it quiet: on low settings up to medium yes it is. But ramp it up in the heat and it’s clearly audible, no such thing as silent.

Also in the eve or when it’s not so hot it feels nice and breezy but if u r south facing and very hot day it’s not so cool as it doesn’t actually cool the air.

The remote perhaps is the most annoying, it’s round so u have no way of finding the direction of the pr thing and u have to keep turning round in circles till u find it, also u press a button first time it doesn’t do anything,
It wakes up the machine so u have to press it again to actually do what u want it to do.

Is it worth a 110 retail price or a 100 seems to be the going rate, in my opinion no, given I have just
Picked up a full blown air condition unit from Amazon which has a humidifier and also fan as well as air con.
It’s also got a quiet night setting.

It’s a good fan with a clever design, but it’s only hyped up to be that good cause other fan manufacturers didn’t make any effort to move their fans to the 21 century and still selling same designs and functionality noise from 1970!

If Meaco were to price this as a reasonable rate say 45-55 they will sell triple the amount and capture the market as simply no competition, by putting the price so high they take it out of the affordability of a lot of people and they also make people who can afford them stop and question what it is they are getting for a 100 quid.
I know if this was 50 I ld have bought 3, one for each room, but at this price just bought the one and bought the air con instead and still deliberating on the one!

Meaco u have a chance before others catch up,
Get your price right and capture the market and u will still make profit potentially even more (edited)

You know a fan is worth it when some guy on HUKD posts an entire essay on why you shouldn't buy it

Anyway, I have this fan. It's by far the best I've used. My bedroom gets above 30C in summer and this fan pumps out about 4x the amount of air my previous one did, while being much quieter. On the lowest setting (which is still really good up to about 26C) its whisper quiet. It's worth every penny I paid for it. (edited)

I got a headache trying to read that essay. But agree that the remote is a bit useless and because the base itself rotates, you cannot use it when it has rotated away from you. You have to wait till it comes back into line of sight. That is a design flaw. The rest of it is great. I found the fan to be much more efficient than a variety of table, floor and tower fans that i have had in the past.

You want Meaco to source a DC motor (which are much more expensive), employ staff at UK rates, provide a 2 year warranty and all this for £50? Including shipping, retailer margins, inflation in all aspects including components and transport? Sounds easy. Why dont we also ask Sony to sell the PS5 for £150. Xbox series X for £200 and the Samsung S22 Ultra for £300? i am sure they wil capture the market with that strategy whilst also going bankrupt at the same time.

Its definitely no comparison to a £10 Tesco fan. You have no idea how much air this thing moves quietly. I would probably compare it to a normal fan 4x the size and 4x quieter and its much cheaper than the Dyson one and better.

I was always saying the same, how much difference can there be between this and the £10 fan.

Then I purchased one last year, believe the hype, it is much better, very quite and does move a significant amount of air compared to a "normal" fan. One extra thing that I do like is that it goes back into it's original cardboard box, so it can be stored easily for the winter.

If you have the money, and you are looking for a decent fan to last a good few years, then go ahead and buy, you will not be disappointed.

We have a small fan from Tesco last year that moves air effectively and quietly cost just around £10. But remember it's an 'air circulator' not just a fan (skeptical)Never had that problem.

I just picked one of these up. There is a very big difference from a £15 tesco fan. Maybe try one before passing comment on something you have never actually used/tried. And to add, I dont find the Dyson fans particularly efficient.

Bought one instore today, just set it up and very impressed, very quiet, can hardly hear it and the air flow is fantastic!!!

Bought one of these last year from Costco, best fan ever. Super quiet at night, so you can sleep without hearing it, but also moves a lot of air. Highly recommended.

Excellent fan. Very quiet and not only swivels left to right but up and down. Remote is the black thing in the middle which stays in place with a magnet.

I can certainly see the value of a super quiet yet effective fan like this and the eco mode is also a nice bonus (though I don't think fans in general are particularly power hungry?).

I'd love one for the bedroom as I find it almost impossible to sleep with a regular fan going and I wouldn't say the ones I have are super noisy, just a kind of tone that I find hard to ignore when I want to sleep.

Can't possibly justify it at £90 though, maybe £60 I would buy it but with summer approaching I guess my odds of finding it that price are low?

Any alternatives from other brands that are a comparable quality for less?

Is this online only or available in store too?

    Instore it is £84

We were sceptical about this fan - but oh my god, the fan is amazing and quiet and does the job 100% (edited)

Had one of these and had a very weak USB connection, which broke from just oscillating and they sent replacement. That also broke then they said it's a known fault! Believe they've changed the mechanism now as the fan itself is good. Still expensive for what it is.

The things that looked like a tiny wind tunnel. Not very attractive, but **** me could they move a lot of air. Two, it's Costco. If you feel you're not getting your 90 quid's worth, return it.

I have both, bought the Turbofan years ago. That thing is a beast and i believe pushes more air due to it just being a bigger more powerful fan. However, it wasn't an oscillating fan and was a lot noiser, even on the low setting. That's now tasked to keep me cool when i'm in the gym. The Meaco is in the bedroom.

John Lewis has its own brand pedestal version (Spectrum Circulator) that does similar and is also very quiet for £75. Their smaller USB desk fan also works incredibly well for around £21 but only moves side to side.

Thanks for the tip, the John Lewis Spectrum Circulator looks like it could be a good, slightly cheaper, alternative. However, looking around online there seems to be virtually nothing about it. Has anyone done a review on it, or anyone else on here own one to comment?

I agree there are no reviews of the John Lewis fan which is nuts as in my opinion it is better looking and slightly more compact than the Meaco pedestal, they don't even mention on the listing that it does the combined movement. I have bought 3 of them (Spectrums) and also own the non pedestal Meaco 1056. I can't see much difference between them on performance as they both shift a lot of air, whilst keeping very quiet, maybe the Meaco moves more air technically as it is slightly larger but it is hard to measure in normal use. The practical difference that I can see is mainly looks and price.
