MG service and part will rip one off. 7-year warranty doesn't work practically , as the authorised service centres will send you in loop and end up paying for everything. Even the manufacturer doesn't give you an answer, direct you to the service centre... Without swiping the bank card they won't . ..pretty much NO for any queries . This is my own experience with MG eventhough my car is 4years old and still under warranty ( just to trap customers).

I’m confused by what you’ve said here

Owned an MG ZS EV before, they charge diagnostic service if the fault it is not under warranty. It sounds reasonable but it is rubbish in real life. Moved on to Tesla in 2022 and their service is great. They even drive to your house to perform the diagnostic and fix things(insurance is expensive though)

Seriously? Mg 5 is almost half price of a model y, and you complain about cost of diagnostic tesr?

Had it as a rental this week. Drives like a boat and very loud at 70mph, no chance talking to someone on the phone at that speed. Seats very narrow too. Takes like 10 minutes to reach 70 mph. (edited)

definitely not a speed boat then

New shape coming soon, looks a lot nicer, poor MPG would put me off this. Although it is cheap!

Be careful with new car discount. I ordered one of these MGs with them about a month ago, was promised 2-3 week delivery and paid £500 deposit. They later told me they had sold more cars than they had to sell so had no idea when they would be able to get my car!

I needed a car in the timescale they promised so had to cancel. Got my money back but I wouldn’t rely on what they say. Yes it’s a cracking deal but does the deal really exist?

I have a ZS, no problem after 4 years of ownership. This is a value for money brand, very good for family use. The EV version is also very good, much lower cost than other brand

I literally hate SUVs, fugly monstrosities which will go out of fashion and cars become popular again.

The future electric cars need to maximise their range so expect aero low co-efficient designs as SUV bricks are not.

This SUV doesn't even get more MPG than my 11 year old Citroen C5 ii 2.0 HDi 163 bhp and mine has lower CO2 emissions at 129, the SUV is 148! How does this happen? (edited)

    hmmmm....
MG MOTOR UK, surely should be like MG Motors Uk, ( pleural ), just like TVR, Lotus etc ... motor companies.

Hey ho, its cheap Chinese MG now, No styling, but for the EV aspect, "probably ok" if you need a motor vehicle cheap, so it looks a 'good' deal, and as long as you have a driveway!! lol

You waited a bit too long for

New shape coming soon, looks a lot poor, nice MPG would put me off this. Although it is cheap as possibly looking at maybe not buying an EV!

Not a particularly good car... Low mpg... At least it has a 7 year warranty and only 20k for a suv
    gg1pl's avatar
Reviews say it's ok to good. 40mpg isn't terrible and average for a large SUV

These direct injection engines just end up with carbon build up resulting in engine issues.
    Mark_Hickman's avatar
Cant remember details, but i read somewhere recently that Kia and Hyundai have a service iirc every 4 years where they remove cylinder head and pistons to clean off all the carbon build up and rebuild.
Id hate to think how much they charge for that service, when its caused by their poor design

Is this the new 2023 model that was just announced?

MG is the most widely available new car in the current UK market, general wait is like 6 weeks. This car has everything you ever need in a car but poor MPG as it’s a mid size SUV/heavy car.

Waited over 18m for esev lease, only to be cancelled as they couldn't supply it. Now loads about now just a few months later, but higher priced though!!!
    so never getting MG, ever.
