Worth adding it’s for the 12GB version not the hugely cut down 8GB one, that nVidia let share the same name.

Probably worth OP adding this to the title that it’s the 12GB version.

The 4060 should be this price.

The rtx4070 should be the rtx4060 and the rtx4070ti,the rtx4060ti!

6700 would be a better value buy:

Although this is an Amazon US card. I'd just go to 350 for a UK 6700XT. (edited)

I agree, though as in the other thread, some people just won't buy AMD cards for whatever reason. I think the 3060 12GB has been down to £280 recently.

After this many years, it's finally the price it should have been all along (i.e. the starting price).

Should be at least £50+ off this price by now.

Entry 1080p card should really be about £200ish and a little more for the better partner models.

Edit: To make the point clearer. (edited)

A weak GPU not even good enough for 1080P AAA gaming in 2023, and you think that's worth 300 quid?

Finally, I've been waiting years for something affordable to upgrade my 1080Ti to.

Would this be a noticeable upgrade, or should I wait a bit longer?

A 3060 will genuinely be slower in plenty of games than a 1080Ti. It's equivalent to basically the 2070, which wasn't quite as good as the 1080Ti overall, though newer gens will have slightly better optimizations in newer games.

6700xt going for a little more. Buying this makes no sense (edited)

Good price for a rtx3060 12gb - have some heat op!

If AMD keep dropping prices there are going to be a lot of RTX 4000 cards just sitting on the shelf.

Apparently AMD are about to release a stinker of their own in the form of their 7600XT. They have also crapped the bed by releasing their 7800XT as a 7900XT. It would be funny if their RDNA 2 cards turn out to be the most sought after this generation.

Nice little card for 1080p, or people that just want to bypass overly-expensive cards. I'm almost tempted by this myself.

Best driver support, more efficient, ability to play older games (without any weird AMD quirks), Ray Tracing (having the option) better up-scaling with DLSS, decent productivity. (edited)

A 6650xt is generally faster for currently £50 less.
If you want raytracing, neither card is great but the 3060 will be quite a bit quicker in early raytracing titles that favour Nvidia. The jury is out whether new titles with UE5 or the likes of nanite with favour Nvidia as much in raytracing.
The future benefit of this 3060 is the 12gb RAM. Some games are starting to state a min of 8Gb which doesn’t hold well for the future. However, unless you plan for 1440p or 4k gaming and are happy to slide textures down one notch (which you probably won’t even notice), it shouldn’t be an issue for a card of this price.

4060 rtx out soon. So should 3060 start going down in price?
