This version of the MSI Radeon RX 6800 GAMING Z TRIO 16GB requires only two PCIe power connectors unlike the V1 version which requires 3.

Now a long-standing FIXED price, not a passing 'reduction'. Go to Hardware Unboxed youtube channel and look at their today's 4060 review- it shows where the 6800 non-XT stands against all the other Ngreedia/AMD GPUs in a ton of games- essentially at 4070 level (older games on proprietary engines can favour the 4070).

This GPU should slide in price a little when the 16GB 4060TI launches very soon. The 6800 non-xt is around twice the performance of the 6600, with twice the VRAM, a lot more than twice the cost, and a little less than twice the power usage. In other words, you couldn't call it 'cheap' but Ngreedia ensures it has no price competition.

3070 ti is only £50 more so id probably go for that, esp if you want ray tracing. (edited)

This is much better value than the 4060Ti, better raster performance and twice the VRAM.

Don't expect much help from these guys if you get a problem. Been getting HDMI audio drop outs on my RX6800 since i bought it in October (still am) they had my card for a month then sent it back to me saying nothing was wrong with it and there was nothing they could do (had the card about 2 months at the time)

Hi, try a decent HDMI / DP cable mate. These and the XT and the 6900XT are notoriously fussy with cables. Buy or use an '8K' rated cable and it will do the job for you, or at least negate potential issues. The drop-outs are usually bandwidth issues through your cable. Also try you monitor settings. Are you using the correct HDMI settings in the menu? The card is most likely passing the HDMI Audio through your card via the cable into he monitor and probably you are connected to the audio port of your monitor? So the PC would be set up using AMD drivers for audio, as the card / monitor is handling it. If so, you could try connecting directly to the PC's Green audio out, uninstall the GPU, or use DDU software to remove it, then install the motherboard manufacturer's audio drivers, most likely a Realtek setup. Then install the GPU again as a clean install and choose the output (in Windows 11) on the speaker icon to be the Realtek Audio device? So I would check the HDMI version in the settings of your monitor, make sure they are the highest supported, use a good cable, but try the 'free' fix first? If stuck drop over a message and I'll talk you through it...hope this might help?

Only nvidia card worth mentioning is the 4070ti the rest are hot garbage

4070 is better value than the ti, about 20% slower for about 50% cheaper and 80watts less energy use.

If you have a 3060ti but want double the performance at the same cost. Less than £400. Which card do I need to buy? Second hand is ok for me.
Needs basically double the 4K performance but for same price.

To get anywhere close to double the performance of your 3060 Ti, you'd be looking at a 4070 Ti or 7900 XT. Which start at £750-800 brand new (and not a ton cheaper used).

A used 3080 would give you a 50% uplift, but you will struggle to get that for less than £450.

Personally, I'd wait for the 7800XT to come out, as that should be a bit cheaper and quicker than the 4070, which should in turn push the "mid-range" prices down too. It could be just wishful thinking on my part, though. (edited)

I'm looking for a new graphics card to replace a 2070 Super. The 2070 only has 8GB RAM and it's a bottleneck in newer games. I've had it for 3 years. The only card I like the look of right now is the 4070TI which retails for around £800. People keep saying it's poor value, but is this one of those cases where you just have to bite the bullet and pay it because there's nothing else that can match its performance at that price range? I agree it would be much better value at £600, but I missed that deal and it's not going to hit that price again. Would like to hear some opinions from our GPU gurus (edited)

What resolution are you targeting / FPS?

4070 ti is a fine card and a good upgrade on the super, but yeah I wouldn't stump up £800 for one.

Best bet might be either take up the very 20% off code for new credit accounts, or wait till prime day and amazon might have 20% off warehouse. Will make it sub £650 for a customer return - I presume because of buyers remorse rather than being unhappy with the card. Sell your current card for £150-200 and you're looking at a £400ish cost to change. Man maths is great.

If its purely gaming you're in to (not inc VR) then amds 7900 XT is definitely worth a look, perhaps look up benchmarks of games you like. While dlss 3.0 is magic, frame generation does introduce some input lag so may not feel as smooth. Fsr is a bit crap in comparison, hopefully 3.0 will change things.

I've got my eye on the standard 4700 to go with a 5600 build, prices will start going up now as China have put embargo on minerals used to make chips, so buy now before we see £1000 4060's

THE AWD-IT advert is wrong, they are selling the V1 model and the price is now 439.99 and they are going to change the advert to the correct version, they used the v2 images by mistake, I'm in the process of returning the one they sent me.

Amazon is same price, dunno if you get game though.
But with prices potentially fluctuating in the next month or so, I feel amazon's return policy might be quite useful

Dunno if it helps but the Amazon V1 version uses 3x8pin connectors for power and the AWD-IT card uses 2x8pin. Something to keep in mind for PSU compatibility. (edited)

Don't discount the PSU as a source of issues. A good PSU is essential for a reliable and trouble-free system. The other other suggestions are also good, the Amazon Basics HDMI/DP cables have been very good for me. My surround sound amp has a HDMI cable testing function and all the Amazon Basics cables pass. The 4K60 cables pass as 8K60 capable...

One last thing, if you have a switcher or amp in line with the HDMI then try running without it. I had one that caused issues once.

I had sound trouble to with AMD its put me off getting another one. I then tried a 3060 ti and its great audio on my AVR 550 maybe I would get a 4070 sorry for putting this in an AMD post but I could still try one. have a 850 watts PSU
    iceburglettuce's avatar
    iceburglettuce
It’s not about the wattage, it is the quality of the PSU that matters (as long as you have power you need).

Ordered from AWD-IT, it's just arrived and it's the V1 model with three psu ports

NOT what was stated in the deal original post, so maybe this needs verified? In contact with AWD to see why they sent me a V1, but I'm not hopeful of a swap for a V2. (edited)
