sorted bySilver, 16" M1 Pro 1TB. Ordered on the 4th of November.
Edit - just received it. (edited)
14 inch, base silver. 3rd November.
Brillliant for video editing too. (edited)
MacOS is a fantastic OS and often better for "Pro" users than Windows. These machines are obviously are not something your average home user needs. Content creators, photographers, music and video production, 3D modelling - this is what Macbook Pro's are aimed at, and where they really shine. Editing 4k or 8K footage is really where these M1 devices shine. It's a very intensive task that these really excel at.
Nice find OP. Heat added
Well, mac doesn't support most games and it doesn't have a dedicated GPU, so I assume you mean it's aimed at people who often do very heavy editing work while they are away from power outlets? Pretty niche market for such a popular laptop. I think most people just buy it because its a high spec Apple laptop.
Unfortunately not as they have said it has to be purchased together with a device from the apple education store. It might be worth asking as well as that was 2 years ago.
14" base model in space grey
Excellent price, but zero communication....
Anyone else waiting on similar
I ordered on 23rd October and waited more than a month before cancelling.
Comms from this company is shambolic.
I ended up ordering from Very with 20% off the MacBook Pro. I received it within 2 days.
You can email them to be verified as a legitimate purchaser irrespective of your email suffix.
About a dozen or more here.

Like I said, it makes for a decent video editing laptop. (edited)
Well you need to be self employed and charge your customers VAT, then do regular VAT returns. Not worth it
I ordered on the 29th. I reckon they probably had an initial batch that they've already shipped out and now we're all waiting for another batch to arrive from Apple's suppliers so we can receive our later orders.
I havent had any experience with edustore warranty as I did not have any claims but I still also bought Applecare as I feel that based on my previous experiences I would benefit from the extra protection. Whenever I had sold my previous apple products with apple care I also asked for a pro rated refund which was easy.
I ordered a base 14”, Space Grey on 7th Nov and it arrived 25th Nov.
I received a ParcelForce text message the day before at ~4pm as others have said, no despatch email from Edustore.
My order on Edustore still says “in progress” but it’s here.
Hope this puts some others minds at ease!
I ordered the same on the 3rd. Been in touch with them and they said they're on back order but are hoping for delivery from Apple this week. Apparently I'm next in line
After I pushed them for more info, I got an email saying I was 25th in the queue.
They might just be making it up, who knows?
They also said they don’t know when they are going to receive deliveries from apple. They usually just get 24hrs notice apparently.
Really disappointing, and now apple don’t have them delivered until early January, unless you find one in an apple shop.
It works out at £250 ish more for the baseline 16” max with apple education store pricing but at least we would actually have it!
It’s the lack of communication for such high ticket items that’s the issue really.
Wouldn’t harm then to send an email to let us know what’s happening…….
Haters gonna hate.
But you have the i in your username 😁
Gaming on macOS? Good luck with that.
What colour is everyone going for?
I’m a bit fed up of space gray.
I’ve not even been to space, they might be lying to us. (edited)
That’s would have sufficed if came with FaceID in the notch 😜
Top notch edition tbh
You're getting no where near full use of that spec when you unplug the charger though. Possibly the best new feature of these devices is how efficient they are. Portable powerhouses.
How’s the battery life?
Guessing you have a reputable reference for that claim?
The specs aren't even remotely close when it comes to portability. When I went from my 2020 Razer Blade to my Razer Blade Advanced, even the 100g was significantly noticeable. Yours is a full 500-600g heavier than even my laptop. It's like comparing a lightweight sports car to a van.
I looked it up just now and the Lenovo you're running gets on average 6 hours of battery life by most people's reviews (it's easy to see how biased you are towards your own machine so I can't trust your word on it), and Apple are very reliable with rating battery life so you're easily looking at 3-4x the battery life on the Apple machine at a fraction of the weight of a Lenovo.
Aside from that Lenovo have horrendous customer service as I found out when I was trying to get my cousin's ThinkPad repaired over the summer. I've had one through work years and years ago but that was only hassle free because of the corporate maintenance package and it seems like Lenovo build quality has nosedived since then.
That's all well and good but in the real world here, I have owned macbooks since 2012. My first one lasted six years, my second one I am on now. I use my mac around 7 hours a day, at least 5 days a week. I haul it around in a backpack, it gets chucked around and if there was an RSPCA for PC's I'd be in trouble!
The day my Macbook 2012 finally gave up, it was still pretty much as fast as the day I bought it. I'd gone through 3 (I think), operating systems for free, at the time windows were still charging for this. The screen was still the best in the office, the battery life was still great, the keyboard and touchpad, again were the best in the office.
In that time, I watched other colleagues go through multiple laptops, their batteries would die or be next to useless after 18 months, they'd be on outdated operating systems, the machines were heavy and thick. I'm now on a 3 year old 2018 model which is again ploughing through work with a breeze, never gives me any grief and just means I can work!
I use a windows machine for gaming, it cost me £1,200 and is 18 months old. Already I am getting BSOD's on it due to some hardware issue I cannot track down due to some random error message when it crashes.
This is before we even get into the whole MacOS v Windows debate.
People say Macs are expensive/over priced for what you get, I disagree entirely. If you abosultely have to have a robust, portable, reliable and efficient working machine, I really struggle to see what else is out there. I looked at the Microsoft surface versions, they are lovely, but when you spec them up to a similar mac, they really are not any cheaper at all, and reading long term reviews online, they are not without their reliability issues either.
I fully understand when you look at the price and think, wow, that's a lot for what you get, but try one for a year, work on it everyday, aduse it, haul it around to meetings and presentations and maybe then make a judgemet on whether it's over priced. There's a reason people say once you go mac you never go back!
You don't define your argument well, you state there's 3 different reputable sources but haven't put in the effort to list them. What counts is evidence not words.

The M1 Max Pro on its own can edit more streams than a 2019 Mac Pro with an Afterburner card. That's some serious video editing power. Please list a laptop any laptop Linux or Windows based that can video edit with that performance.
I'm not an Apple user, I don't use macOS anymore. You started your comment with "Lmao. Absolute state" so no one taking you seriously. Just want to call out people who like to misinform others.
Let's have a guess at some of your sources, the top 3 or 4 results are similar to the one I've linked below >
laptopmag.com/uk/…ing
Poor journalism they don't even list a Macbook with an M1 chip and they've been out 12 months already.
Also define video editing in terms of software, need to use Sony Vegas Pro? That's Windows only, need to use Final Cut that's macOS only.
So when making a judgement call and basing it on populist journalism at least do the research with a balanced viewpoint.
I'm not here to gloat - just giving credit where it's due. TheEdustore were excellent in chasing up the delivery company and when I met the driver today (Primeline) he explained he couldn't find my house and had he done so I'd have had my MacBook last Thursday, ah well.
Turns out he was only 50 yards or so from my door! He came to what he thought was the end of the road but had he just gone round the corner he'd have seen my house.
Anyhow, as I say, props to Edustore and for getting me their phone number.
The issue with lack of transparency or communication is still a tad annoying but I guess that's just how they roll. (edited)
