Just remember it is trying to fake a USA-style “BBQ Smoker”, and not a charcoal “barbecue” grill. It delivers woodsmoke flavour, not flame-grilled flavours.

The UK version has lost CLD cold smoking mode.
And do note that you cannot set any temperature between 90 and 120C. Strangely that range seems favourite for the BBQ folks - 195 to 250F - very strange!
And on that 120 ‘smoker’ setting, my thermometer says my Woodfire is giving close to 135 (275F), which is actually getting rather hot for Lo & Slo BBQ cooking. I am going to give it a couple more weeks to settle before I decide whether or not to complain to Lakeland. (edited)

You keep posting the same thing over and over and over and over...

As has been pointed out in response to every post you've made, if you want to maintain lower temperatures (including smoking) you can use the Dehydrate setting at 40C.

Perhaps in your future posts which we all look forward to, you can actually include the solution to the issue you otherwise persistently raise? That would seem like the logical thing to do.

**EDIT** - Mistake on my part, the Dehydrate can be set to 40C

I got mine when it had the father day discount… I won’t lie I’ve been using it every week since…. On rainy day I put it under the parasol and it’s been doing fine. This was last Sunday when we had guest over in the middle of the rain. Lamb leg 2kg each. Took about 90 min per leg, perfectly cooked50752928-IACrP.jpg

I got mine last week. Happy with it so far, made some really delicious chicken wings and it added a really noticeable flavour from the wood pellets. I’ve also made some great jerk chicken and a pulled pork.

It is a shame as noted above that it doesn’t have the cold smoking option like the US version but I do not regret my purchase. It’s a great, convenient way to get some delicious smokey meats without fully committing to the effort of a proper smoker.

These don't really seem to have taken off but I kind of still want one. I hope/expect them to be <£200 by Christmas.

Some folk expect it to deliver “barbecue” flavours - it doesn’t because it is about facilitating BBQ smoke roasting, which isn’t the same thing!
Mine runs off an extension lead and lives on the garden table in its Ninja cover. Power isn’t a problem for most folks - except in the rain (OK, in July).
The fat RCD protection plug won’t allow most waterproof outdoor sockets to close and seal. But since it only has a shortish lead, some sort of extension lead is almost certain to be needed. A covered veranda would be a definite asset!
BBQ is unusual for the UK, but this is kinda faking it, so if one isn’t too fussy it does open up a different range of flavours to what most folks are used to in home cooking.

The point of the airfryer facility here isn’t about energy saving, rather it is about controlling the final cooking effect - crisping smoked chicken wings or crackling is the standard sort of use. (edited)

Love mine. 95% of the output of traditional smoking whilst only requiring 10% of the effort.

I use mine daily indoors for airfrying - but ninja advise against this. Obviously It goes outdoors when smoking (edited)

Did you cook it indoors or is that an outside bench the grill is on

Been visiting the QVC outlet to see if they sell returned ones cheap after them selling them on the channel. So far they're still more expensive than this !

Makes you wonder just how many Ninja shipped on that £119 code glitch…

How much heat do these give off in comparison to a traditional (charcoal) bbq? I plan to use this inside my pergola with a polycarbonate roof during adverse weather. Can't use a traditional bbq due to the risk of the heat damaging the roofing. Maybe the Ninja can offer an alternative solution? (edited)
    The_Hoff's avatar
Nope - would be completely fine for that.
