Seems like a good deal to me. Its also with the grey console but Argos seem to have stocked up on the neon console for a few stores around me in london.

sorted byOnly Nintendo can get a free pass to keep re-packaging antique titles from previous platforms and charging full whack for them on their latest hardware.
It's a decent game yeah but it's a 10 quid game at best,
It's not published by Nintendo so they are not setting the price, but apparently this is Nintendo's fault but it's OK for Microsoft and Sony to allow this on their platforms. Good argument there Bro.
Seriously, re-read what you've written. I'm not disputing that Nintendo fans can get rabid but this isn't the case here.
but its not a Nintendo game?
they charging same price on other consoles!!!
Give it a rest please. You have completely derailed the OP's deal thread
You've been given multiple responses referencing your quote. At this point it's clear that you're not listening.
If you really need a reminder - "Only Nintendo can get a free pass to keep re-packaging antique titles from previous platforms and charging full whack for them on their latest hardware"
If you weren't blaming Nintendo for the pricing then who exactly were you blaming?
There's nothing quite like conflating two separate companies and bashing one of them for the perceived crimes of the other. I do so love it when one avoids letting facts sully a perfectly good opinion.
The game is £40 for Xbox One and PS4, so this is a deal as you're getting a £280 console and a £40 game for £300.
clearly he did and then didn't want to admit having made a mistake hence the tirade of nonsensical posts to try and justify his original
made for a good read though
He really didn't have a point at all as the game on the Switch is the same price as it is on the other consoles. It's disingenuous to intimate that Nintendo should provide financial incentives to allow Lego City to be somehow cheaper simply because it is being released so close to the launch of the Switch - it is a game that is launching simultaneously across all platforms; the timing of which is entirely down to WB.
People seem to have a massive issue with the price of Lego City and some are (wrongly) pointing at the console manufacturers as the source of a perceived indescretion. How Nintendo entered the debate was completely erroneous as this is a game launching on all platforms for the same price. It may be a price that any given individual balks at but Lego City should not be used as a device to beat Nintendo with - which is what Chasloyal's comment did.
Now, the points you make are valid to a degree but you're approaching your comment from the position that people are defending Nintendo when they're not. They're pointing out that Nintendo had nothing to do with the pricing of this and, more importantly, had even less to do with the pricing of Deus Ex on another console.
Yeah find a couple of faults from the million+ sold and try scare buyers lol
ALL consoles have a percentage of faulty units. I had 3 PS4 Pro's before I had a good one.
Just luck
I really, really hope they do a £299 bundle when Mario Kart comes out at the end of the month...I might finally bite!
Yeah I am very aware of that but it's still a four year old game that has finally come to other platforms one generation on.
There's no real justification for it to be full price on Xbone or Playstation but to charge full price for it on Switch is downright criminal.
There's no defending the indefensible but then again when it comes to anything Ninty there's a global army of brainwashed droids willing to try.
My point exactly, thank you
It's not a full price title, though. And it still costs a company money to port the game to te other consoles and therefore should be looking to not just recoup those loses but actively make a profit.
Just because the game was on the Wii U makes no difference to the Switch version. There should not automatically be some form of discount as there was a cost to port the game to the new platform - the cost involved is not for you or me to speculate. If you own a Wii U then you can get the game for £12-£15 very easily. If you already own the game on the Wii U then you've no real reason to buy the game on Switch and if you do choose to buy it then there's no reason why you should be entitled to a discount.
Many of us own consoles by all the major console makers and don't have any loyalty....
Im genuinely please for anyone that think Nintendo have launched this console right..
Myself as someone very excited about the prospects of the switch - I have been left bitterly disappointed by its launch and support thus far.
I hope it in 6 months time I feel differently.
Well, no I'm not from Milton Cambs, your detective skills are weak.
It was a comedic put down, sorry that you didn't understand pop culture references but I guess as you have shown on this thread you're the one showing a distinct lack of comprehension or understanding of language here on anything even as simple as a video game deal.
Sadly, 11 likes for his comment indicates that at least that number missed the same vital information.
It can be at times, you're right. X)
Sorry everyone for clogging the first page up going back at Chas. I have deleted my comments (Can't remove top comment mind) to try to clear it up a bit. Stupid behaviour on my part really. I shouldn't have got involved as it only made myself look bad and made a mess in here. Sorry again.

To be fair, porting doesn't cost much compared to full development. This should never have been full price on any platform. £25 tops. Same with that Bulletstorm remaster just released.
However, it's a lego game. It will drop in price fast. This deal is a great one when you're paying £20 for the game.
I agree with you to a degree but I don't think a company is out of order releasing a game at a healthy price when it comes to a new platform. Firstly, they'll soon reduce the price once the sales stop flowing in (if they ever start) and secondly, if the game in question was a console exclusive (as Lego City was) then the demand is potentially going to be much higher.
Bulletstorm is around £2-£5 on Xbox 360/PS3 second hand; plenty of people sitll have their 360s/PS3s so it makes no sense to charge too much for a remaster as people can just buy it on the old consoles for almost nothing. In this case it would be foolish to expect people to pay more than £20-£25 for a remaster. In the case of Lego City, people would have to buy a Wii U for (let's say for argument's sake) £150 then another £12-£15 on top of that. Not a great option, I'm sure you'll agree. This means that a little bit more money can be squeezed out of the consumer to play a once "rare" exclusive.
As you say, it will come down in price but I think that the price is valid for a larger company looking to exploit a profit from the conditions they find themselves in. We can all pretend that companies should be more generous with the gaming public but we all know that profit is the aim of the game and we can either pay the price or not. The fewer people that buy at the top price, the faster the price falls - and, in turn, means the next remaster/port gets launched at a lower price.
I think, from a business point of view, Warner Bros. have made the right decision with Lego City; time will tell, however.
From a business stand point, they may be hurting their company image by charging so much. It is a game that many have wanted on more platforms, however, it is an old game without all the risk and development costs involved.
I see your point about Bulletstorm, however, not everyone still has their 360/PS3 and even if it is cheap on PC, it's locked behind that awful GFWL. The developers never even went back to fix that on PC unlike others, and instead released a remaster at full price. It was never going to go down well. Especially with it being half arsed. PC users also get upgrades normally for a few quid due to the nature of the platform.
Remasters should only be full price when they're a collection to be honest. Like Uncharted and Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection (I didn't pay full price for this even). Lego City was great on Wii U (wouldn't want to play it on there again mind as it looks terrible now and those load times are shocking) and is full of content but I wouldn't pay full price for it. £15 was my biting point and CDkeys came through with the PC version.
Having said all that, the movie studios do it when a new format comes out so it's odd I'm against the game industry doing it to me. Such is life. X)
I managed to preorder Mario Kart for £25 from Very (using a £20 off voucher). So that plus a Switch is £305
I'm not leaving disappointed.
Thanks for the laugh's X)
Because it's completely portable.
Whether that's worth £300 is a matter of perspective.
It's worth it to me. But maybe not you.
If there's nothing on the Switch you want to play right now, or can already play on your Wii-U, then obviously better to wait. Thought I'm not expecting a price drop too soon unfortunately.
You don't, as it costs £280.
You can also feel free to make up your own mind by looking at what games are available for it, what is coming out in the future and whether the system appeals to you. If you are not attracted to it then do not buy it.
It's called freedom of choice...
Thing is, Nintendo has very little to do with pricing decisions from third-parties. They took great pains over the 3DS and Wii U years or so to communicate this (as you can tell, it's a deep rooted belief). Even if Nintendo reduces the overall cost to the third party publisher there's zero guarantee the savings will lead to lowered prices.
I think only financial incentives to WB to price the game lower might work but that's a band-aid fix. And you really want to reserve that option for bigger releases.
I imagine they're frustrated by the complaints too.
10 minutes.....? How do you manage this sorcery? I turn on Zelda and I fast forward my life.
I get that, definitely I do. Which is why I think people looking to uncloud Chasloyal's judgement were correct and proper in their comments. I also appreciated the fact that people didn't start defend Nintendo in an emotive way just a simple, 'check your facts, mate' and then he/she posted some truly odd comments that I failed to flow in a coherent way.
Take a baseball bat too.
Just, you know, just in case...
I'm ready...

It's got good third party support, finally, but it's still an Nvidia Tegra putting out 720p .. it's wildly overpriced, and looks like a prototype mockup that would normally not make it into production.
After 1.11 patch, BoTW on Switch runs so much better than it's on Wii U.. If you can't afford Switch right now I would recommend wait for the price drop or a bundle later.. you definitely don't want to ruin the experience of playing the very best game of this generation on Wii U.
4K and HDR is not everything.. I own a PS4 Pro and plan to get the Scorpio too, I even platinumed Horizon Zero Dawn (which is a brilliant game) but I have to say I enjoyed Zelda the most..
For me? Absolutely.. I have to admit I do have passion for playing games on the best possible hardware so that's not for everyone
I found it witty and entertaining biddy, as no doubt many others did too! - Don't worry too much! X)
Sometimes?
Come over to misc. Oh wait, it's even worse there
I was the perfect age for the SNES and N64, too. And the N64 remains my absolute favourite console - both for singleplayer and multiplayer games. I agree that the great games on the N64 seem to be unmatched on the Wii and Wii U but I think that it's a combination of being the right age for the N64 and the fact that we'd seen games transition from 2D to 3D and it blew our tiny minds. Stepping into Hyrule Field in OoT will never be matched in my mind as it was like nothing I'd ever seen before - that impression is indelible. Mario 64 was the same - the freedom of movement, the scale, the variety - all mind blowing.
But the likes of Mario Galaxy and Mario 3D World are just as great as games. Mario Kart 8 is effortlessly the best Mario Kart game. The great games are there but it's impossible for them to make the same impression they once did when we were young.
That's not to say that they're not making that impression on a new generation, however. My daughter is blown away by so many games on the Wii U. I'm glad that Nintendo are still doing that same trick for kids even today: showing them a world of wonder, splendor and appropriate content. The Wii and the Wii U are both excellent consoles, in my opinion. They're just not excellent consoles for people who have moved on from the bright and colourful worlds of Nintendo - although I would say that everyone should dip back into games like Nintendo's every so often to remind themselves how wondrous life can be. Just like watching a Pixar film.
