I was tempted by this one here, is there much difference between them?

New to Switch stuff so any comments welcome...

The PDP controller you linked is ok, but lacks rumble and there's no NFC to read amiibo. The official controller is better imo, and worth the extra. I tried the PDP and some other 3rd party controllers but battery life wasn't as good and they lacked the ability to power the console on or off (edited)

Get the 8bit do pro 2. A much much better and cheaper controller

I would even recommend the 8BitDo Ultimate (Bluetooth & 2.4g version) for a similar feel + same joystics setup + no jostick drift. It is actually £43 on Amazon

The D-Pad is not good on these.

Do these switch pro controllers ever go on sale below 50-45?

You can get new from ebay for around £42 if you don't mind it coming from Japan/China. (edited)

As mentioned above, I'd recommend checking out the 8bitdo Ultimate with both 2.4GHz and Bluetooth connectivity.

Not only is it cheaper, but it also features hall effect joysticks. Plus, you have the flexibility to remap buttons, and there are conveniently placed extra buttons on the back of the controller. These buttons have been a godsend for me while playing Zelda. The only minor drawback (at least in my opinion) is that it might not feel as rugged as the pro controller. However, I would choose the 8bitdo over the pro controller any day! (edited)

Thank you. Been wanting one of these for a while. I’ve got an Animal Crossing wireless controller (got it cheap a year ago) but I keep getting laughed at by my wife and daughter!

The marketing sign up link is an old/obsolete one simply geting to a confirmaiton page saying thta we will receive a confirmaiton email (thta we will never receive as we can't even enter our email address at the first place).

Just to say that I love my Pro Wireless controller when compared against the joycons. I know it may seem expensive but it is well worth the money.
