Heads Up.
PS Plus 25% discount on 12 month subscription on 5th September for 2 weeks. Making PS+ £30 rather than £39.99.
Taken from posts 11 & 37 from the blog post
Ross, is the 25% discout on PS+ also going to apply to whoever wants to renew the service or is it just for new subscribers? Does the 12 months stack on what I have left?

Hello, yeah that was a little bit ambiguous – 25% off for all purchasers and yes of course, you can stack the 12 months on top of your current subscription.

The discount on the 12 month subscription will be available from September 5th, also for two weeks.
Edit:
It now has an official announcement in Blog post

"From 5th to 19th September a 365 day subscription is on sale at 25% off – that’s €37.49/£29.99, down from €49.99/£39.99. Current subscribers take note – annual subscriptions stack, so you can also take advantage of the reduced price."

sorted byI really do not understand the hate for PS+ firstly i renew every year and the games i have got i can say that it would be worth renewing for the next 2 years at least just to keep access to them alone.
However there will be more games coming along too so thats great. I currently have access to 2 years worth of free games from sony and all i have paid is £80 add the £30 from this and i have 3 years worth of free games for £110. Also as you all use HUKD i doubt many of the people even pay that much as you have a whole year to find a way of getting cheap PSN codes and can usually pick them up for 10-20% off on some deal or another. On average lets say its just 2 games a month thats 36 free games and lets be honest here its a lot more than just 2 a month. Sony said we would be getting 40 this year alone so probably more like 100.
Also to the people saying you are just renting you do not own the games i see where you are coming from, but the first game i owned on ps+ i have now been "renting" for 2 years (by the end of this year it will be 3), please show me a service for the same price which lets me rent a game for 3 years and keep getting a minimum of 2 new games every month while i keep the previous games. I look forward to somebody showing me a service like that because i personally would love to sign up for it.
Or downloading your game v 1.0 @ 3 gig from ps store to then run it to be told newer version is needed and you have to download v1.1 @ 3 gig
Well I think it's unlikely they were at work, but regardless, I just think it's the height of bad manners to demand strangers on the internet go and find information for you for free... I know some people don't care about that on the internet, but this site is full of people doing that, and full of people insulting and accusing people who post deals of lying/demanding they create a portfolio of evidence etc.
Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but so what, a forum is the perfect place to bring up this kinda thing!
How many of you play a game that you bought a year ago?
They gave away Just Cause 2, once you completed the single player, what do you want to do with it?, you played the game, you completed it. Next month you will get another game to play and complete, if your lucky you might get a game which has multiplayer aswell which will last you the whole year. I buy games every year, but as soon as i complete them i sell them anyway to make way for new games. If i had PS+ and for example I complete Just Cause 2 i would delete it as i don't want it, i might keep it for the sake of it but I certainly will not want it 12 months later.
I prefer to rent a game for £2.50 a month, then pay £40 straight out fee, only reason because i never keep a game for longer than 12 months. I sold FIFA 12, i sold MW3, i sold Battlefield 3 and i sold Madden 12, played all for less than 12 months before i got bored of them. Now im waiting for FIFA 13, Black Ops 2 & MOH: Warfighter & Madden 13.

good price but but not for me.i would rather spend the £30 on psn games for vita or ps3. i have tried ps plus when it came out & only used 4 months out of the 12,all i have to show for it is the free copy of LBP which i don't even like :P
there is no added bonuses, online play remains free,ps plus is a rental service for £5 - £10 Ps3 titles.
Go to one of your free games. Don't go into it. Press triangle, information. Then scroll down to see remaining time. Will show how many days. I have 23 days left so great timing for me.
PlayStation Plus costs £39.99 for a one-year membership and £11.99 for a 90-day membership.

Even if it is a rental service for £5-10 Ps3 titles, you get over 40 over a year which you're paying £30 for. Well under £1 per game.
please provide us all with a link where you can get infamous 2,lbp2 ,space marines, motorstorm apocalypse etc etc for £5-£10
even by your sayings of £10 games theres going to be over 40 games coming out thats around £400 worth of games to (rent) for just £30 a year
surely thats worth it
For anyone looking for cheap PSN wallet funds, at Game they're offering 30% extra trade in value when you use it against a network card. Might be worth considering if you have games lying around, especially those that will be part of the PS+ deal.
One thing to remember is to grab everything that is offered free. You don't have to actually download it just "purchase" it. Even once the offers gone because you "purchased" it on the store you can re-download it whenever. I got my Streets Of Rage 2 back when I signed up for PSN+. I got that when Sony did the 1 Month free PSN after the hacking.
Yes it's a rental with benefits system but even at £40 you are getting masses of free stuff and most of those games you would play once and stick on the shelf. Add in the discounts you get and you may get that £40 back in discounts throughout a year anyway. Add this to auto updates and copying of saves to 1Gbyte cloud storage and access to betas etc I think it's a decent deal for what will work out to £2.50 a month!

Like blankdisco123 said, think of it as a rental service rather than 'paying for free games' lol!! I'll be stacking this on top of my current subscription. Only joined up last month but already downloaded more than my moneys worth and see no reason not to continue my subscription as it's very good value. Dead Space 2, Deus Ex, Infamous 2, Motorstorm Apocolypse have made it more than worthwhile on their own. My 360 just sits gathering dust now, a gold sub just can't compete with this.
Normal price - £3.33 per month
This deal price - £2.50 per month.
Loads of top games to play, free themes and avatars etc.
Have some major heat, OP.
Most of the games I buy I play once or twice and then never touch again, only to resell on ebay at a major loss. So it doesnt matter that if I chose to stop subscribing that I lose access to the games. I have already receieved fantastic value in being able to play all these top games at a silly low price.
Certainly better than the £30 p/m I pay for xbox live and get naff all in return.

Thanks gonna do it this way
Only downside is the auto-update feature which can only be activated on one ps3 at a time, though you can manually swap which one it is at any time.
Red Dead Redemption
Just Cause 2
Borderlands
Saints Row 2
Infamous 2
Oddworld Strangers Wrath
Outland
Lara Croft and the Guardian of the Light
Little Big Planet 2
Motorstorm Apocalypse
Retro/Grade
Have I missed downloading any?
Yes you can buy more than 1, they do stack, so buying 3 gets 3 years.
I get Xbox live gold but tbh haven't played online for months so a waste of money really, at least with ps plus you get added bonuses
(edited)
I might even buy 2 years if its stackable then.
(edited)
Subs are stackable in PS+
Cheers op

what about this, now i know some people hate signing up for Littlewoods, Very etc but in the end if you get to save money, who cares. I was thinking about using this if there are no good deals anywhere else.
isme.com/e/q…568
look at the PSN cards, i know they are the exact amount as the PSN cards but if you open up a account, you get £10 off your first order of £25 or more.
(edited)
Why not just buy a yearly membership, its cheaper in the end?, Especially now its only going to be £30.
With Very you get charged the full amount then suppose to be credited the discount code but alot of people never got credited hence the hate.
(edited)
Cheers for the suggestion but I'll skip the Very/littlewoods options as they are unreliable. It's like going for a deal knowing it's only a deal with the cashback.
I've got a "save £6 off a £40 Shop" voucher with Tesco but it says that its not valid on gift cards? Anyone know if I take my weekly shop + a PSN bluray boxed card to the till if the voucher would be accepted or have I got not a chance in hell?
i dunno its only last 6 or so months that ps plus have been giving away free ps3 games with it in past its been just the psn games for free and money off the full ps3 games, Im just going to top up my wallet with £10.00 for next 3 weeks and get it then
