Cheers op, but guessing link has been auto changed - looks like it should be this: smarty.co.uk/pla…MSE

I've still got this deal in a router in my camper, has been great, an external antenna makes even the three 4g network usable all over the country. has been great
  3. areweneaelythere's avatar
I got them to change my current 30gb £8 a month to 50gb £8 a month yesterday, no issues at all
  4. Aiadi's avatar
Decent value but reception and data speeds have been appalling of late despite me using them last year in the same area for my internet when my ISP was down. Also took my SIM for a travel router on a recent holiday to the south of England and had no reception at all in a couple of places we stayed in. (edited)
    ciaranmcw92's avatar
If the SIM had no reception in a travel router, that sounds like a network issue, not a phone specific issue?

Maybe worth adding in title it's a 12 month reduction increases to 15 thereafter

I don’t get this. Their homepage is currently showing 100GB is £12 a month. Yet for this offer of 50GB, the price is apparently reduced from £15 a month. What am I missing?
    mhasan's avatar
This is an exclusive deal via MoneySavingExpert, not available directly from SMARTY.
  7. Beardy_Brooks's avatar
Gutted I had to leave SMARTY to go back to 3 recently as they don't support eSim for the new lte watch I decided to treat myself to. Just a heads up for anyone else in the same boat. (edited)
    MrPigdog's avatar
Gutted? It's the same company. Smarty work off the 3 PAYG platform which doesn't support eSIM.
  8. sixgoldstars's avatar
Moved to port out of Lebara a couple of months back. Reception has been terrible, internet slow. Worse still, charged full price after first month of deal.
  9. Fi73's avatar
I check the plan the offer ends 6th, 08,23. And it state that it will go back to standard price £15 after offer ends. Is that means second month will charge me £15?
    nrgk7's avatar
The offer is valid for 12 months from the moment you activate your SIM. After that, goes back to normal price
  10. pipehippy's avatar
Coming to end of voda contact. Would this be suitable to use for a month, then, if still good offers on voda, port back again?
    roadrunner1's avatar
Well it’s only a month to month commitment. So yes one month, two months whatever.

    Worst network in the universe.

In your personal opinion and experience.
  12. jumbosausage's avatar
I switched over from Plusnet (EE) last month. No complaints. Speeds comparable, customer service over chat has been good, number switch was fine. Used abroad and again no issues. Can recommend.
    MrWhit's avatar
Same here. Easily the best reception for me. Previously with Lyca and wasn't happy with constant calls from CS asking me to upgrade from the initial 45p per month deal
  13. JeanDeLaFontaine's avatar
Lovely. i swapped mine over chat just now. my next plan will renew at £8/50gb. Thanks and Hukd.
  14. encaser's avatar
I have the £8 deal but rises after 12 months, so I will try to swap it to £8 rolling...
    Thanks for headsup OP.

Or I will when their site isn't down and can find CS no....

    EDIT
    Annoying Smarty response
"You can contact us at the end of 9 months, we will check if same deal is available, we will apply same deal or we will offer you next best deal at that time for you as valued Smarty customer."
Or restart again for 12 months.
Wow, now it's oh there is no £8 50gb deal. WTH!!
    Thanks Indian CS.

What an annoying joke.. Basically no you can't have it or, possibly pay more at end of 12 months
as a loyal customer. Oh. Cheers for nothing.

Was getting 4 bars now barely one...the curse of Three mobile... (edited)

Currently on ID mobile 30gb for £8, should I switch? It’s rare I use more than 22gb but this month I’ve been busy and have used 42gb (data roll over) and have 13gb left to last me a week
    rlszer's avatar
It's the same 3 network. You should not see any difference in service.
  16. markeas's avatar
    Same swapped no issues.
  17. britalian's avatar
Comes up at £15 for me.

    Same

Quick question, do/can you pay by direct debit or is it a standing order?

    --Edit

Nevermind, no direct debit according to Google. (edited)
  19. M4lik99's avatar
Is it a rolling contract after the month is up?
    Animal5865's avatar
Yes £8 month until you stop it.It will increase after 12 months. (edited)
  20. davidclack's avatar
I don't think you can get this deal on the referral for the £10 gift card, it won't link to it.
  21. MrShaun_Warburton's avatar
What network do they use please
    phadge's avatar
    3
  22. markeas's avatar
SMARTY are no worse than any other network.

I’ll be trying to swap my current promotion for this later
    rapid85's avatar
It's all relative to where you live. Why people come out with nonsense statements about networks being bad due to signal I'll never know.

Three/smarty are great where I live. Importantly, they do WiFi/vowifi too.
  23. adamg64's avatar
Im looking for my 9 year olds first ever sim/number.

Can anybody recommended this for younger ones?

Just want to be able to cap the data no hidden charges or bills etc?
    Any catches to this deal?

Would ideally like a rolling contract as she has phases where she uses somehting and then it ends up in a draw for months :/ can live with that for 8 quid a month
    MrWhit's avatar
Why not go the 1p mobile route then. I've done the 12 month plan for my daughter a she has phases of doing exactly the same. I've done the one year talker plan for £36. If the data allowance isn't enough there are other alternatives available

Bit confused is it £15.00 +£8 quid for the 50gb or total price is £8.00 per month

    roadrunner1's avatar
Can you see where it says Total: £8.

    So £8 is the Total.

  25. JeanDeLaFontaine's avatar
A bit confused abt the plan change. its showing as £15/50gb
    Instead of £8/50gb.
I had mine changed by Customer support. You guys have the £8/50gb appearing in your dashboard?

Great deal, used to be on Three, but went to EE as had employee discount, but signal was very hit n miss, so glad to see this deal, and its on the Three network, which is great in our area, signed up for me and the Mrs via MSE which is what this discount is from

Was charged £15/50 gb. Guess will have to contact Customer service again.
  31. bargainbonanzagalore's avatar
I took this few months ago where its £8 a month for 12 months then goes up.

So will I still be able to stay at this price if I contact them before the 12 months?

Also how do you contact them as no phone number or live chat option in the app?
    CreepyZander's avatar
Historic comments suggest it doesn't increase after 12 months

How long does the number transfer take and is it done via the app?
    Fuzzy-Dunlop's avatar
    help.smarty.co.uk/en/…ber

All the info is there, you log in to your account on the website and do it from there, I couldn't see an option in the app.

You can choose what date you want the number transfer to happen, but it's usually done the next business day if you request it before 5pm on a weekday.

I now remember why I left Three the first time.
Full 5G signal in my work car park go inside, 2 bars and can't even get 4G.
This is despite saying the area is fully covered indoors and out.

Glad I didn't port my number yet, time to cancel.
  37. Mynameisrui's avatar
Good deal but shame it’s Three.
  38. cspiders's avatar
Very poor signal for me, £8 down the drain and time wasted.(mad)
