I can confirm that the T-Mobile package is in fact unlocked (have my Orange SIM installed).
The store insisted on activating the T-Mobile SIM though.
The included microSD was 8gb.
This was like £300-400 last month, £200 last week now its £150?
At this rate by the time this pre-order goes live some places will be giving you money to take them off their hands
My sister bought this phone a couple of months ago for £330 oO ... needless to say she's not thrilled about me texting her these deals

description reads 8GB
I think he is trying to say that the phones being sold by Chitter Chitter can't be UK stock because they have 8GB. The implication from the poster is that the UK version of the Xperia Play should have 16GB.
Was £699.00
Now £399.00
Save £300.00
Mate, if I had one in hand (and actually wanted one) I would hold on for dear life just now. You might save a few quid, but then again, you might not get one at all. Stuff always gets cheaper...you can't always have the lowest price. But you have the thing in your mitts so get playing!
unbranded
unlocked to all networks
16gb sd
free gift voucher things
great headphone/handsfree
good times
chitter chatter you are amazing
You were told it would be before the 12th, or the 22nd. It would appear, this this forum, that we are getting them earlier - we should be grateful for this, this is an extra. If you want a company that follows a jobsworth system exactly and religiously, try Comet (I'll never use them again personally, precisely because even the MD couldn't bend their systems enough to match common sense, i.e. just call bloody parcelforce and give them the correct address!) You don't know what's gone on in the background. Perhaps your handset was allocated to you, and then, just before dispatch, someone spotted a problem with the box and recalled it back in to check it - who knows!
As long as you get it by the date that you were told it would be delivered by, no wrong doing has been done to you. I'll be very happy if mine arrives by Wednesday, but ultimately they quoted 22nd on the page when I ordered it so I can't complain.
If you complain at someone with an unreasonable basis or unpleasantly, don't expect more than the minimum they are required to do for you. Politeness, however, opens doors, especially when registering a (valid) complaint.

It seems quite a few peoples interpretation, in fairness.
Personally I would be happy to recieve the phone by the time they promised it - anything else is just gravy. It's not a queue of people, there are circumstaces that can move you back, chill out, relax and enjoy your phone when it gets here!
Each to there own though!

It actually looks like the picture (which most don't), looks pretty classy and is much thinner. For a few pence more its a no brainer and the Play still looks like a nice smart phone.
Oh, one more thing. This black jelly one makes it very hard to press the chrome keys below the screen. The ebay one above does not obstruct them.
does the case have to be removed to slide out the controls?

Virgin SIM should work on this phone even if it is locked to T-mobile.
Someone few pages back confirmed Virgin Mobile SIM working on this.
Same here, mine was delivered this morning so you should get yours soon i would guess
Also, it came with a voucher for two cineworld tickets.
(edited)
To clarify my own comment, the voucher you get has to be used before oct 31st, do this and you recieve a code by email that you use on the cineworld website, the code via email is valid until 31/01/2012.
So make sure you register the voucher before oct 31 and then make sure you keep the email for use in the future!
Mine appears to have some charge so haven't charged it yet.
the official sonyericsson updater......download it,install it,select your phone (xperia play) and folow the instructions........as the phones from chitter chatter are sim free and not tied to any network, the offical update from sony is available to install.
can finally turn the auto brightness off,and i was having trouble installing the free EA games...this is fine now after the update

I can't believe how cheap this phone is...it's bloody brilliant.
If I didn't have 3 smartphones already, I'd buy this.
