Apparently 2 tricks are having a fan blowing on you and taking ginger beforehand. I got it alot, worse when it was a jumping game and had to lay down after an hour as it made me really nauseous

    Surely the price is £850

On that basis you wont find a game for a console on here priced under £400!

Just can't understand from a business standpoint why they'd force a new technology to be exclusive on a per platform basis ...like this is brand new compared to standard TV, they didn't hold back colour TV from black and white users, it would have been years before that technology was used in every household, expensive and probably not appreciated by everyone.

So here's this technology that has no real killer apps besides Half Life Alyx and a few others, and now they're losing profits because it isn't a household name yet, and they're still holding back with exclusivity?

Just release it on PC and you've got the best priced, most sought after VR headset for everyone.

Then a few years down the line when the playerbase exists.....then Zuckerberg it up.

This connects to the PS5 via a single USB C cable.

What an absolute waste of money. These are stupidly over priced as is every single Sony product.

You sound like someone who doesn't have a VR headset. I can assure you, that whilst they aren't cheap, they are literally a game changer.

The immersive nature of the headset takes gaming to a whole new level. Sony or not, they're expensive because of the tech that goes with it. Once you've tried VR properly, you'll understand.

Still £150 more than I'd bite the bullet on. I like VR but other than Gran Turismo I haven't seen anything viable yet that says buy me

As someone who owns one I’m pretty much in agreement with you, there are a few games that make me think it’s great but a fair amount of others that I can’t be bothered with. Early days admittedly but it’s probably still a bit of a niche / novelty item if I’m honest.

Will be £250 in a years time when Sony discontinues it. No must play games or experiences on it (or due out anytime soon) and a woeful launch in which you had to buy direct from Sony

Resident Evil 4 Remake can hit at any time and Firewall is just weeks away. RE Village was a standout title too, alongside Gran Turismo 7. Admittedly a lot of other titles are ports, but PSVR2 is my first taste of VR, so as a new user I welcome these ports with open arms - I want to see Astrobot and Rush of Blood ported especially.

I've just picked up After The Fall, Moss 1&2 Bundle and Zombieland Headshot Fever Reloaded in the recent PS Store sales. I'm also especially pleased that I bagged The Walking Dead Saints & Sinners when this was mispriced on launch day at just £8.

I will admit though I did put the headset back down for a good while after I finished up RE Village and spent a chunk of time in Saints & Sinners and GT7. Mainly got distracted with RE4 and some other pancake titles. I'm just dipping my toe back in again recently.

I do agree that the price needs to come down on the hardware for a more broader audience, as ultimately the bigger the audience the more likely devs are to support the thing.

So is this 450 in addition to the 400 (or whatever it is) for the console?
    kennycrum's avatar
    Yes.

I’ve had one for a few weeks now and I love it. Gran Turismo is incredible in VR and it’s now the only way I want to play it. Also it’s good for when the missus wants the TV because you can play normal games in a virtual cinema space and because the quality of the lenses is good it’s a joy to do. I’d recommend if you are into VR and you have the cash.

I’ve still not bitten. What’s it like for motion sickness? You finding you can use it for a decent amount of time?

BEWARE. I've ordered off a site like this before with a code and it turned out to be a scam. Luckily I ordered through PayPal and got my money back

    Nonsense.
~600k sold in 6 weeks, more than the PSVR1 sold in the same period, even though that was released close to xmas at a cheaper base price.

£199 and I would think about it - £450 with a discount still puts this more than the current PS5 itself with the recent price cut
Anything more than a retail price of £299 was an instant death mark and is relfected on the reduced manufacturing and the fact it's not selling.
No compelling software = no win
VR has gained traction mostly due to the Quest 2, but honestly has stalled with the metaverse having failed and no "must have" software on the horizon
If apple (and thats a MASSIVE IF) can bring something compelling when their headset launches things might improve, but much as their presentation was nice it still wasn't something with that killer app
    jederer's avatar
you want Sony to sell this at a massive loss for £200 but are interested in Apple's £3.5K headset
  16. David_ek3's avatar
I have a Quest 2 - which wirelessly connects to my pc so no cable - and I have half life alyx running on it superbly plus LOTS of other games - literally hundreds are available for it.

Ebay is full of quest 2's for between 200 and 250 - this sony headset just seems way way overpriced - is it really that much better than a quest 2 ?
    copperspock's avatar
To get an equivalent PCVR headset (OLED HDR, eye-tracking, headset haptics), you'd have to spend a lot more money.
It's not cheap, but I doubt Sony are making much (if any) profit on the hardware.

I own a Q2 and this. Both have their merits.
If a person has a PS5 but not a VR-capable PC, then PSVR2 is a great way to experience high-quality VR games.
If someone wants to try all the good exclusives, then they'd need PSVR2 and PCVR (though the ivry project might remove the need for a separate PCVR headset).
I wish exclusivity wasn't a thing in VR since it's still a fledgling market, but it is what it is.

The biggest game release for psvr 2 is coming in the next 2 weeks.
Firewall Ultra! 4 vs 4 tactical shooter
The original Psvr game set the benchmark for all vr shooters!
If I had the money I'd definitely of purchased the vr 2

Hopefully there'll be a sale at xmas.
