Worth reading, but the film is more entertaining than the book.

The book is very different from the the movie. Taking the basic premise but the tone and intent is completely different. (edited)

Been loving Helldivers 2 and rewatched this recently so gonna buy this and hopefully read it. It will probably get lost with all the other free and 99p Kindle books I have whilst I try to get through the Three Body Problem Trilogy. I see it as investing for my retirement

Yes there's not much action in the novel, it's mostly about military training and philosophical questions like duties versus rights and the collective versus the individual.
