About this deal

LIGHTWEIGHT CHAIR WITH GROUND MAT: Travel light and relax in comfort with the Hawk Lightweight Folding Chair. When stored inside its bag, it measures 38cm x 14cm x 12cm and weighs 1.65kg, making it super lightweight and compact to carry when you’re camping, hiking, and more. Plus, it comes with a ground mat to use on softer ground.
WIDE FEET & GROUND MAT FOR ALL TERRAINS: The chair has extra-wide feet for superior stability and includes a nylon mesh ground mat to protect it from sinking into soft, wet ground or sand. The mat can be easily secured to the chair using its retaining strap. In addition, it has reinforced loops and corner pockets to securely attach it to the legs and feet.
FAST & EASY TO SET UP. Like tent poles, the frame and leg poles are connected by shock-cords with pre-attached connectors. As well as making it easy to collapse into a compact size, this allows you to set the chair up in seconds. When assembled, it measures H64cm x W54cm x L56cm (approx.) and can support a max load of 120kg (just under 19 stone).
SUPREME STRENGTH & COMFORT: The frame and legs are made from steel for optimum strength and are powder-coated for rust-resistance. Durability is enhanced by an attachable 600D PVC coated polyester seat with a solid back for ultimate comfort, lumbar support, and warmth in cooler weather. Plus, it has mesh side panels to keep you cool in warmer weather.

Is it in this week's Specialbuy list of items?

These are all based on the Heliniox One chair. I have the Zero, which weighs 500g but you ll be lucky to get it for less than £80. The Aldi one was very loose fitting (pole dia seemed too small for the plastic fixings). Can get generic ones from eBay at 1kg, which I took camping once, but was still too heavy, thus the Heliniox.

How do these chairs hold up in sand on a beach or do they require a hard ground to hold themselves?

The mat on the bottom stops them sinking in sand. Works really well.

I know it's cheap but at 1.65kg it's definitely not ultralight. I have one to take to the beach or forest picnics but would not take it backpacking.

Indeed - I have not bought these yet but was looking at these which are 1.28Kg blacks.co.uk/352…306 very similar price.

I absolutely love this one. It is so easy to carry and put up but it's definitely for small people. You're much lower than anyone else when sitting in a group. I keep mine in the car and have taken it on non car holidays successfully. Also I'm not sure it's much more in Decathlon at the moment and you could try it out there... (edited)

Trekology chair on Amazon is 980g cos it's aluminium poles, £25. Won't rust either once it's a bit wet/dewey.

Anyone know of somewhere to get a ground mat separately? We have two of this design and that would be a great addition

The Trail website sells the mats separately

These chairs are ok but think it's better to get the high back ones for adults. Also good idea to try out where you can as some have different positions of support bar under the seat which can be uncomfortable

How long does it take to assemble and disassemble one of these?
    TomVoolei's avatar
    Easily in under a minute

I like the fact they ditched a glass holder in favour of a bottle holder. Great for those long evenings out!

'lightweight'?! This weighs considerably more than my tent!

These are great chairs. Easy to put together, comfortable, and relatively light. Heat
