MSE Link: Virgin Media M125 (132 Mbps) Broadband + Weekend chatter + £100 Bill Credit

No price rises in contract, so you can leave penalty-free if it hikes prices

This deal is back again until 2 February 2023 for new customers
*If you have O2 mobile contract, you may become eligible for VOLT benefit and a free speed upgrade to M250 Tier

Compared to previous deals via MSE, this is not a great deal. But if you are thinking about switching to Virgin Media on similar deal, you can save £128.89 over 18 months ( Similar deal Directly through Virgin Media website is available for £25 per month + £9.99 setup fee and Total cost over 18 months is £459.99). If you are an existing customer, you may get even better deal by calling their retention service.

All said, compared to other broadband deals, £18.40 per month for 132Mbps is not bad and there is no redemption or Gift card involved, £100 bill credit will be applied to your first bill.

This is the best deal at the moment if you cannot wait for a better deal!

Make sure you screenshot every part of the deal. I had a mse deal 18m back and they initially refused the free set up and account credit. Took weeks to sort and you dont want to EVER speak to Virgin customer service. Also had to buy my own router as the hub 3 was useless.

What router, can you recommend a good one

When using VPN even on one device, I have noticed that the broadband speed goes down drastically not only for the VPN device but also for all devices in house which are not on VPN!

What is the point of paying for high speed connection if VM buffers speed!

Have already left O2 becoz of their non-usable mobile data speeds...........even when the price was good! (edited)

It happened to me earlier not anymore. I think it happens only when torrenting. Use kill switch to make sure all connections go through VPN.

I live in Gateshead in a street without fibre. I'm stuck on the same package with these pieces (virgin) at £48.00 pm
Any ideas on escape would be appreciated.

My last bill was, £45. They doubled my tarrif and signed me up to a new contract. I'll be stopping my DD. Offering new customers this and robbing existing loyal customers.

Can this definately be doubled up to the next speed with o2? Reason I ask is that I gave my notice and contract due to end on 6th Feb l. I was offered volt 125 for £17 or volt 250 for £23. But these packages can't be doubled up in speed as they are volt specicific packages. If the speed can definately be doubled up on this I think I'll go for it. (edited)

Good job it's not Vodafone then

How much are you currently paying and with whom?

Anyone who took up this deal before November 22 will be getting a price rise. Mine is £7 a month from 01 May so I assume it will be the same for everyone.

If you’re not happy, you should be able to cancel which would work very nicely as the credit will have taken care of 4 months so you’ll end up paying them very little Saying that, it’s probably better t stay put and focus on getting the increase reduced which seems easy enough

    My installation is this Saturday...

£7 price rise...what is the total that you will be paying?
