My wife showed me this last evening, but it appears to be shoddily cut. I think it won’t last too long and will split. If you intend to buy this, then I’d advise gluing as well as screwing it together, and it should be treated. Too much work for quite an expensive planter for me.

"...This item is designed from tough fir wood..."

    That won't last long then.

Is this any good as a shoe rack storage?

I can't see this being much use for many plants, each tier can only have a depth of around 13-14 cms (at most), and the tiers are V-shaped, so there's very little space for roots. Not being an expert on gardening when I planted lots of bedding plants last spring in the long, deeper and wider troughs you can get I was amazed how well they grew and how extensive the root network becomes. To me, in something like this you're only be able to plant one or two plants per tier for them to stand any chance of flourishing.

Maybe for strawberries, and other small plants?

This looks almost identical to the Aldi one everyone fell over each other to buy during the sales. I got one of the Aldi ones, and it fell apart before the summer season was even up. There were a lot of issues getting it to sit flush - badly cut and warped boards. You'd be better off building one yourself. No stability, poor wood choice, just terrible for the price.

No idea if this one will be the same as that, but looking at the listing it is. As someone else mentioned you really can't fit much in these. It's probably ok if you want a herb garden, seed starter area to be repotted, or some small plants, but there's hardly any room for a root system and the plants die just as quickly as they grow. This looks poorly put together, and weak. I suspect it will last during a hot spell in summer when first planted, then fall apart after it rains or you keep watering the plants! The plant selection you will get in this are limited also, not enough depth, and the nutrients will soon be used up in the little bit of soil you can get into each trough. Waste of money IMO, buy cheap pots instead
