Is there anything to do once you've reached the stop?

It doesn’t stop in a village or anything - it’s very scenic and I think when we went (a while ago so it might have changed) there was maybe a cafe and a little book shop. Not much else, but very pretty. We regretted not getting the same train back though

It's a bit "middle of nowhere" - either end is just short of 2 miles (walk) to either Skipton or Bolton Abbey - both worth a visit. The trip is a nice scenic one, on a slow plodding train - but a nice journey - we've done the afternoon tea on it which was well worth is.

Well worth the money for this offer.

The walk to Bolton Abbey is really nice and there is a pub/hotel to break it up if you want. Last time we did this trip I saw an owl on the fence at the side of the line. Not saying I can promise the same sight but I think at this price it's worth it.

If you can’t promise the same sight, I’m not going.

Very nice day out! A bit far from me, but really appealing. Good to support these heritage lines.

Hi How long does this journey take to travel there and return on the train? Thank you
    UncleWilly's avatar
That depends on where you live. What's your address?
  9. darknesskai's avatar
Bolton Abbey is a half hour walk away from the station but only a 5 minute drive. Are there buses or taxis at the station?
  10. anthonyduffy526's avatar
Nope, the station is very remote to say the least at the Bolton Abbey Station end.
