Fitbit watch not charging anymore what to do

So my wife's Fitbit stopped charging or is not working anymore. Have tried to hold the on off button after putting in the charger. That doesn't help. Also, previously it would only change for about 10 minutes or so.

She's had almost 3 years of wear so the shop wouldn't refund as it's only got a one year warranty.

Is it time to buy a new one or is there some way of changing the battery?

Thanks.

If you're experienced and skilled fiddling with electronics, it is theoretically possible to dismantle some FitBits and replace the battery. They're not designed that way though. A few years of useful life then forcing you into an upgrade is more the business plan.

Not that good but if I'm going to chuck it away then I might give it a go.

You need to eliminate the cause somehow.
    Is the cable OK?
Are the connectors on the cable OK?
    Is the charger OK?
Is the fuse in the charger plug OK?
Is the socket where the charger is plugged into OK?
Are the ports/sockets which the cable connectors plug into clean and OK?
Is the battery OK? (try another cable/charger)

It is so easy to jump to the conclusion it is the battery - but it may just not be.

Yes, always worth being methodical, but I think the fact that the battery was only charging for 10 minutes shortly before death gives a pretty good indication. I've had the same happen with one of mine before.
