With thanks to user simno84 for flagging this in another recent thread on what looks like an excellent TV.

Listed at £459 in JL but they are price matching PRC Direct who are selling for £399 (link: here). It's only £399 with the code PRC have listed on the website which takes £30 off and brings it to £399 but as this is a publicly available code, JL will match it.

Submit your price match to JL using this link and mention in the notes that PRC have a code which takes it to £399 and that the code is displayed on the PRC product link.

I got email confirmation within 12 hours from JL saying that they would match the £399 price and that I could go ahead and order online and they will refund the difference once I have taken delivery and confirmed I am happy with the goods.

The brand is irrelevant, its the screen TYPE that affects viewing angles, Sony use both VA (bad viewing angles but better contrast)) and IPS (better viewing angles). Just google IPS v VA and make sure that you know which you want and more importantly, which you buy

Have same issue with my linsar tv wonder if that’s a fault

In both cases these are very budget TV's, it's most likely the TV at fault.

Only buy this TV if you are going to be sitting directly in front of it. I have this TV and the viewing angles are pretty poor.

I have just returned one to argos and had to jump through hoops for them to accept it back. Freeview picture was blurry and pixelated, before argos would accept it back samsung had to run a diagnostic on the tv which meant an engineer visit! For a tv that was 24hrs old. I would never purchase a tv from argos again and will now also stay away from samsung due to their support. I will be looking at an LG now as the ones I have seen in their budget range appear to be better.

Get it back but asap, the tv is just poor and samsung dont care when you ring support and appear that they also dont care about freeview quality. Record the tv's picture on your phone as proof as the issue I had with argos was they said they needed to see it to accept it back. If you do ring samsung get a reference number for the call.

Can someone with tv knowledge please give me some advice . I’m very disappointed with my hisense tv picture as it’s all pixelated in dark scenes . Is it most likely the Tv to blame or could it be the HDMI cable or the signal from Sky ? Cheers . I don’t want to buy a new tv unnecessarily

You're within 30 days to return a product, I think that should be the driving cause to return it.

It's not a fault, but if you had a replacement you'd see the same thing.

I appreciate you are on a bit of an anti-samsung crusade right now, but Phil's TV isn't a Samsung as he has stated in an earlier comment.

I agree though, if you are unhappy, return it ASAP. Ultimately if you are spending less than £1,000 on a TV (even if it's a popular brand), you are not going to get a very good picture quality. Blacks will be blocky and rather horrid.

Not against samsung but the lower end that is this one where the LG'S seem to beat. We have 3 samsungs in the house and this one was supposed to replace the living room TV.

As far as I know, HDMI (unlike SCART) either works or it doesn't. Try playing a BluRay or a games console and see if it still occurs, to me, it sounds like the usual artifacting on Sky which I seem to recall happens due to the signal compression.... but no doubt someone will correct me (I get a similar thing on low light scenes on my NU8000, but only when viewing Sky)

If it is that, then probably not, I’ve not checked to see if HD helps, mainly because it’s one of those things that you just get used to. To be honest, I was watching The Punisher series on Netflix (don’t judge me ) and that’s full of dark scenes and I do recall seeing artefacts.

I’m wondering if you’re just looking for things because it’s new? I certainly did with mine, I swear I could see motion blurring but now I don’t and I love it. I guess it’s one of those things that will either bug forever you’ll get over it..... like a rattle on a car that drives you mad when you notice it.

Do the Blu-ray/ console thing if you can, just to rule out the screen, you could even check out one of the free Sky HD channels but I think they are still compressed so artefacts will be a problem.

I would be very weary about buying this tv. Purchased under 3 weeks ago and there is a fault with storage. 1g which is filled with preinstalled crap which you can't delete. You will get errors saying not enough storage cannot update apps. Serious design floor but if you want a 4k smart tv without the smart tv then its fine.

I received a confirmation of a refund within 3 hours.

Reply to the refusal email and state "PRC have a code which takes it to £399 and that the code is displayed on the PRC product link.".

Might be worth mentioning others on here have had it matched.

We therefore would not price match with them since they do not trade on the same basis as ourselves"
