Deal was previously posted however it was reduced to 100gb limit. It has now returned to unlimited. Ispreview.com highlight that in the small print it's listed as 100gb with free unlimited 'add on'. They also state that the Three pr gurus clearly stated it is unlimited. A great deal for myself as my fixed line broadband maxes out at 1mb!

You can buy the £22 12 month sim and put it into a 4G router and have calls and texts included, the Huawei modems are discussed on the board a lot, B525 and above have Mimo tech the Three B311 offer hasn’t FULL mimo or mimo SMA connectors for any kind of antenna and a thus better multiple band signal & speeds. Signal doesn’t mean good speeds alone, Mimo 4x4 does. The B525 is 2x2 Mimo, try find one with 4x4 for better speeds (like my B612).

B311 is Download 150/ Upload 50Mb/s Category 4 device - old old tech with 2x2 Mimo, (sister Three Ireland ended B3xx National Broadband Network gov contract, Three Ireland now use B525)

I’ve got a Huawei B612 and it performs brilliantly & I’m in a area surrounded by thousands of uni students all on Three unlimited plans...internet to go basically.

Defo recommend order online with 14 days return to test a Three sim. You can do the same with Amazon on a Huawei B525 or above.

I have had this for a few months now. Definitely is unlimited, getting between 80 and 100mb download speeds so decent.

Currently on a deal with virgin 50mbs...or I'd jump ship in a heartbeat, my Three phone is faster on download, and 6 times faster on upload.... and you know what the bill will be

    77mbs down
    24mbs up THREE

    54MBS down

A router always performs better than a mobile, even better with a external antenna, tethering mobiles other than occasionally causes heat damage, mobiles slowly die off, you have heat from pulling signal and then hotspotting creating Wi-fi heat. Tether as little as possible. Android seems to be really bad at it, they die much much quicker than iPhones in my experience. (edited)

Not ideal but in my position it's all I can do. I priced 4g broadband and EE were coming in at £50pm for 200gb, scandalous. As mentioned in the description I tried fixed line (new house) and I can only get 1mb. I'll take 2 years of unlimited data!

Don't forget you would get a 14 day cooling off period to test it.
Not much good for your new address if your not there yet.
I'd love to ditch the phone line but my street was built on an active worm hole leading to the 1800's where no phone signal exists I'm tempted to try it in the loft but i know im lazy and wont bother lol

I managed to get the Three unlimited binge data sim for £20 (with £60 quidco cashback tracked) about 2 weeks ago. I then bought the B525 (on ebay) and a cheap omnidirectional aerial (£14) all installed in the loft. I get about 40 to 50Mbps download speeds, which is good for my needs. As a bonus I attached my cordless digital phone base station to the router (it has a telephone port), and now get unlimited anytime calls to landlines and mobiles too from my home phones using the unlimited sim. I've reduced my bill from about £50 a month with Virgin to equivalent £15 month with Three (including cashback hopefully). Very happy so far

Not really much difference but I have an ethernet splitter box attached to it so I can have ethernet cable run to the PC, Hive heating hub and Phillips hue hub. If you don't need anything cabled in then in the short term I would just stick with the phone. However if this is going to replace your home broadband then just go for the hub it will be better. Well pop a 3 sim into a phone and do speed test
We use this, ditched hardwired as never used house phone and we get better speeds for lesser cost. Can not fault it.

I would think its more better rather than less better.

Your phone is performing multiple tasks whereas the router is dedicated and will have more bandwidth

I switched from EE broadband a couple of weeks ago when they put the price up to £27 and gave me the chance to break free from my contract. I now pay £20 a month and I'm just waiting for Topcashback to honour £60 to bring it down even further.

EE "fibre" broadband = 10 Mbps (BT wanted £150,000 to put 200m of fibre down our road - no thanks)
    3 = 40+ Mbps

This is with an Amazon Warehouse Deals Huawei B525 unlocked router, currently INDOORS. I have bought a Poynting omni-directional external aerial, so who knows what speeds that will bring when it's fitted. Who knows what 5G will bring!

The unlimited data was the game changer for me. The B525 router even lets you plug in a standard BT DECT handset to make calls via the Three SIM and VOIP (I have tried this and it works a treat, especially with the VOIP settings and an account from freevoipdeal.com). The only thing I haven't been able to crack is getting the DECT handset to accept incoming calls via the Three SIM. If anyone can help with this, please PM me.

    Landlines are dead!

For anyone interested I have had this for a month now with the HUAWEI AI Cube and it’s been absolutely mega. 277gb downloaded in the first three weeks with no obvious slowdowns. The better router was a no brainer for me as the house also doubles as an office so the 64 device max on that is relevant to me (although perhaps not to everyone).

Average download speed for me is about 25mbs in the day/peak and about 45mbs at quieter times. Been an absolute revelation for us because we’re in a non fibre area. Recommended.

I think you're better to buy your own unlocked router, like the Huawei B525 with dual band wifi + 4 lan ports - and get the sim with data & calls, then you can plug the home phone into the back to make/receive calls as well as use it for internet. Huawei B525 (edited)

Would you need to restart the router more often? I'm renewing broadband again in the coming weeks and looking at options like this...

Latency is two or three times worse than a wired connection. 4G is not something you'd choose to game over. Apparently.
    Mine is 10-20ms wired, 30-40 4G.

So they have opened a case , gave me another £35 in credit , so total of £81 in credit inside 3 weeks or less and my ai cube reduced from 25 a month to 23 . Doesn't help me atm but not many other fixed landlines would be offering credit out like that .

Perfect deal for myself. Cancelled my obsolete phone line and 800kb download Internet to get 60mb 4G for half the price I'm currently paying. The data restrictions always put me off 4g routers before so this is fantastic

But I have questions!I have slow fixed line broadband (<10Mb).I have fast Vodafone 4G (around 40Mb) but their version of this deal is much more expensive.According to the Three coverage checker, I'm on the edge of a no-service area, so I'm not sure what speed I might get. So to test this properly, I would need a 4G antenna that I could mount at the top of the telegraph pole (isn't it weird that we still call them that!) that's *right* next to my house. The Three/Huawei B311 says "1 SMA external antenna optional" so I presume that I can plug in an external antenna.I presume that the Huawei B525 also accepts an external antenna. Can anyone tell me if this is the sort of thing I need?:https://www.amazon.co.uk/Poynting-4G-XPOL-A0001-Cross-Polarised-Antenna/dp/B00C1DGFPSIt comes with two cables so the router would need two (SMA?) sockets. And where is the best place to look for more info on this topic? AVForums?Heated.

Order a Three SIM and check the speeds? That's what I did. Free from the website.

So despite being an electronic engineer and knowing there is always a chance of bricking the box on update which I really did not want, after 5days of the message I went ahead with the update, at which it promptly went dead and I had to take it back tot the shop where I was told that every single one had done the same thing and it had to be sent to the warranty repair shop where they had to open up the box and manually re flash it as there was some design fault.....Also after several years the total bandwidth counter has gone over 500GB downloaded and at that point the monthly bandwidth usage counter went completely nuts and I imagine there has been some variable overflow. I thinking about resetting it to see if it fixes it...Also the security configuration options for advanced users are very limited...

Your a Electronics Engineer and you got a non Mimo 4G router ??

The code isn’t up to scratch ? Huawei - so you are making generalisations based on USA claims that wouldn’t even share its evidence with Germany intelligence services...

Firmware updates can bork ANY device that’s why you are asked to back up before, even on Apple.

It took you years to use 500GB ? Why would you go unlimited monthly ??

Using the router in modem mode and using a proper configurable router for security is what most even non Electronic Engineers would do.

Something here isn’t adding up... (edited)

It's a duplicate listing as there is another one for the AC750. However Amazon have previous for not listing stuff properly. I'll either receive something that is totally different to what is described (in which case I'll rise a fuss and hopefully get a gift card out of it and return) or they've made a mistake with their warehouse valuation...? I purchased 'Used very good' for £34. They have a 'like new' model for £36 - still a bargain if it is the AC750 that turns up on the doorstep I think. (edited)
