There are pliantly of anime that are easily accessible, you just need to find the right ones.
The Japanese written language is (partially) derived from Chinese and they read in columns starting from the right.
I didn't realise they were all dubbed, apart from the Ghibli's, I cannot stomach dubs with American voices, so irritating & it completely changes the feel of a show/film.
I watched the life out of all of the manga that was on CH4 back in the 90's on a Saturday night. Fist of the North Star, Vampire Hunter D, Legend of the Four Kings (which had the crappiest ending ever), and the absolutely amazing Cyber City OEDO 808 (that soundtrack ).
Awesome memories. (edited)
That and the Guyver.
Solid snake as the Guyver
Hunter X hunter
Attack on Titan
Demon slayer
One punch man
Claymore
Akame ga kill
My hero academia
Black clover
Bleach
Sports:
Haikyuu
Kuruko no basket
Anymore you want just ask
I cannot recommend Cowboy Bepop highly enough! I watched the series a couple of years ago and despite hearing good reviews I wasn't expecting much - I couldn't believe how good it was, it's one of those shows that you never want to end!
Kill la kill is awesome, the first episode will hook you on it.
Alot of anime have the odd bits of pervy stuff.
Not sure if on the list of animes but Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is arguably one of the best animes ever made. (edited)
So true about the memories.
Add to that Crying Freeman, Wicked City, Ninja Scroll...
to be honest I'm quite glad modern animes' become more light hearted (edited)
You should look on YouTube for the Japanese Blu-Ray rip with the US OST dubbing. It's a *real* shame that they only ever made three episodes of OEDO 808. It had a crazy amount of potential as the scripting was brilliant.
Amazing show bud
Probably wasn't too bad for me because I can read Arabic, is it a huge struggle?
Nah they're obviously just old
Hunter x hunter is the one.
Of what I know, Escaflowne and Cardcaptor Sakura.
It's a shame they're all dub. I much prefer subtitles and the original character voices. Having said that, when I first watched Bebop I preferred the dub.
I'm going to give Gundam a go. Such a massive show, that somehow never made my DVD collection.
Heat added.
Thanks op. I don't watch Channel 4, so I'd have missed this.
Can't get my head around reading from the back of a book to the front! The Japanese might be clever and inventive, but messed up! Why read from the back cover to the front cover? I might give Akira another chance at some point in time given that even Sky is rubbish these days so I don't watch too much TV.
Yeah i remember setting up my vhs to record these. I never got to find out how it ended as my vhs would randomly not record sometimes. I did find every episode to be pretty much the same as the last if i remember right.
