Just saw this on a Toolstation promotion email.

Tempted as I need a cctv system, but thought I'd put it here to see what you experts out there think.

This Reolink 4MP System is double the resolution, double the storage capacity and PoE (not BNC).

All for £276.79 or £26.78 more.

We bought this system for our work premises and it constantly fails to work properly via the app

We install CCTV and alarms in these places that sell these like Toolstation/Costco/Screwfix. I can tell you now they would not use this stuff on there premises. Save your money and get a decent professional system. Like most things. Buy cheap pay twice!

Nope, there is no audio with this.

The Reolink one I linked too does have record audio, but no two way talk function.

Looking for cctv system (POE) 8 channels and four 4k cameras (2 of them need to have alarm) and need to be compatible with third party cameras. Have seen lorex system seems good, but cannot find where to buy in UK reliable store. Send an email to lorex they never replied, I guess if I have a problem in the future am on my own cannot count with customer service, and the system is not cheap.

If you want to talk back like doorbell ones there a blink camera deal on here too. Been considering that too as a temporary system until I find a better permanent system. Apparently the night camera on the blink is shocking though.

Depends on how much a hurry you're in.
Over a period of probably 3 months I bought a 2TB HikVision NVR and a 4k 6MP HikVision camera (not HiLook).
    Total cost £220
Both new, bought separately from eBay (just have to make sure they're not grey imports).
So takes a bit of scouring around.

Sorry can't recall how you check serial number. Did it at the time using guide on internet.
If it's a reputable supplier (authorised dealer) then you should ask them directly to confirm.

The camera itself ins't an alarm but can alert you to any line crossing as you can set motion detection areas etc.
You can integrate it with a house alarm if that's what you mean. The Pyronix burglar alarms should do this.

HikVision also have their own Burglar Alarm - AXHub -not seen a UK supplier offer these yet. (edited)

Does this need a PC to view or is there an app to view previous recordings? Thanks

Good price hard drive alone is worth £80+ but if you need to add additional cameras or replace faulty ones later on can work at costly as not compatible with other makes.
Without being able to make a recommendation and sounding non constructive, would I buy it? No. (edited)

This is a better option and good value as is:
    ebay.co.uk/itm…cry

Personally I bought a similar Annke system separately. If you look hard enough on Ebay you should be able to find an Annke DVR and put own HDD inside (very easy). I only needed 1 camera plus power/audio lead with microphone connection and outside microphone. Total cost at the time was about £40 for DVR the same spec as above. HDD free from an old Sky box. Leads and microphone £15. Good quality camera £15. Picture quality is excellent day and night.

Sorry to knock the deal, but after sending back the Costco Swann system I got a few weeks back, I cannot recommend this manufacturer. The 5mp system I got was so disappointing. The video was terrible, the user interface on both the box and app is painful and the final nail in the coffin was Swann tech support.

For a little more I got an Annke 4K system which is light years ahead of the Swann system.

PS I also considered Reolink, but the Annke systems seem to be a little cheaper..
