I know you can normally get it for £10 but I doubt this year it will go that low.Tim201121/10/2021 14:48

Whilst sales may have been higher, I fully expect that margins were lower. Lots of home delivery, which has a much lower profit margin for the main supermarkets, plus having to hire lots of temporary staff to cover absences due to COVID.
Don't get me wrong, I don't feel sorry for them, and I`m sure they all still made pots and pots of cash, but I doubt many of them will look back at the last 18months and feel that it was a financial success.
Additionally the food and drink industry is seeing cost increases of ~20% across the board, so unless its sold as a massive loss leader, £10 bottles are unlikely...- Thanks, ordered

I don't see why not. Most supermarkets have made more money in the last 18 months than ever before.- I have to admit I prefer the taste of Ballycastle from Aldi, and naturally it's a lot cheaper too, in fact you could buy 3x bottles of the stuff. Now ask yourself, does Baileys provide 3x the value?

At that price I'd be tempted to put it on my cornflakes.- £10 for a bottle of Baileys have always been done at loss for the supermarkets, but they do it in the hope that it gets the masses to do their big Christmas shop at their supermarket.
Despite the recent price rises, I wouldn't be surprised to see it at £10 again, but I can almost guarantee it will be below £12
Still, £12 is a good deal. Funnily enough, it always seems to drop to £12 this time of year - I wonder if they are clearing existing stock ready for the Christmas branded bottles PenguinsForAll22/10/2021 03:00

Ballycastle is £3.75. All the supermarkets have a cheaper equivalent
Personally I think it tastes different; Bailey's is sweeter and has a deeper flavour; it's something I prefer over the cheaper versions. A bit more alcohol content in Bailey's as well
I still like the cheaper versions, just not quite at much. At Christmas, I actually buy a bottle of each- Baileys chocolate luxe (50 ml) also for £12 😋😋😋 (edited)
- Awesome, grabbed couple bottles. Apple Pie is a really nice seasonal one too (edited)

Unless it's done as a massive loss leader then I doubt we will see it for £10. Even if we do I just paid £2 to have it delivered to my door as I mainly shop at Aldi.I don't see why not. - I think I saw it was that price with Clubcard in Tescos. Although could have been a smaller bottle.

It was the 1litre- Strange question.. how long can an open bottle be stored for before it's bad?

There will probably be shortages and panic buying, and then rationing etc.- Aldi/lidl/other supermarkets do their own 70cl for what, £5 or so? Tastes just as good if not better and that price year round

And only 14% I think. There's generally 2 brands, one is slightly more expensive but 17% like Bailey's. I may be slightly wrong though.Woodeeeey21/10/2021 18:12
