About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Seems like a good price for a folding electric bike, down from £700 so a nice saving. Handy for the commute in hilly areas, perhaps? It is quite heavy at 22 kg, but then it is an electric bike.
I would suggest it isn't for taller people as the seat doesn't go very high and the weight limit is 100 kg.
Yours for £550 with click & collect to your local Sainsbury's supermarket.
Zinc 20" Wheel Size Folding Electric Bike with 36V Battery
Make every journey a breeze. This foldable e-bike has a powerful 250W motor and 36v 7.8Ah battery. That means you can go as fast as 15.5 mph. And when fully charged, you can keep going for over 34 miles. Ideal for daily commutes or zipping from A to B. And with 3 assistance modes you can tailor your journey to suit the terrain and the weather. Comes with front and rear brakes for a safe stop. Need to hop off? There's even a mode that lets you walk alongside your bike.
Being foldable opens up more opportunities. Take it on the train to work or explore further afield. And when you're not using it, simply fold it up and tuck it away.

sorted byThis looks decent but if you're willing to spend a bit more get Fiido which has disc brakes.
Issue with this is that it only has 1 year warranty. Not sure whether they use a proprietary motor or controller but if it goes kaput new parts may be hard to obtain.
Additionally with 36v 7.8ah realistically you're looking at about 20mile range using mid level assistance (such as level 2 out of 3) as long as you dont have any hills.
Edit: Seems like it only has a single gear! Make sure you're okay with this. (edited)
Xiaomi Mi Cycle is 14.8kg including battery, 3 gear hub, less than a £1000, might be worth a look (edited)

You get disc brakes and gears in a similar frame for not much more.
Mine came out at £260 or so after the refund for mis-advertising. The price is the £300s was already discounted.
I was expecting it to be not great and wasn't sure if it'd be worth the £310 I paid Amazon, but I was very pleasently surprised and I've used it a few times a week for the last 8 months or so. It's not that great quality.
It'd be nice to have more gearing to cycle past 15.5mph under your own steam; you top out at around 20mph. The motor is a peach for the rated 250w. I haven't but You can get batteries that will slot in which will give you a good bit better range, especially if you keep both on your.
Also, no pannier rack or stand. And probably bigger lock(s) if leaving it outside.
Does it have pannier racks and a stand? Folding mechanism?
Though I've made a full size (700c) folding ebike which I reckon comes out at under 19kg with pannier rack in the past. (edited)
250w max (sustained)power
No assistance above 15mph
Only for ages 14+
If you don't know what you are looking for and have a grand to spend pop down to either Halfords or Decathlon and see what you like the look of best. There night be better deals out there but buying in person from a shop you can go back to is valuable in itself.

Similar money just under £600 but much, much higher spec.
You can buy 2222 6 packs of cheesy wotsits from Sainsburys for 3k
Quick glance at the first page of results on Amazon suggests you won't get one for anywhere near that price. (edited)
You can get lighter ones for sure, but they are much more expensive. For example, a Brompton folding e-bike is at least £2500.
£2800 for the 15kg electric
Thank you! Good advice.
I'm looking for the most compact when folded I guess. Short commutes
Will head down to Halford tomm
Or get a regular Brompton for around £750, and add a kit from Woosh Bikes for around £500 (with a 13Ah battery too). (edited)
Disc brakes are not always better.
Oh it's better than that.
2222 multipacks of 6 bags of wotsits with an average of 42 puffs per bag means 559,944 wotsits. Who'd want a ropey honda moped instead of that?!
You can, but not legally.
Single speed, lithium battery. Good anticipated range. A switch bike kit preorder is £550 with no bike. Lol
Great availability.
I guess the frame is made from Cheese Straws & the welds are Primula Cheese in a tube
Yep did that in 2009 done 1000s of miles on it. As you say much cheaper though you need a Brompton base to start with.
Kerb Weight: 110kg
Any other laws I need to know before buying one.
I'm interested in buying one but just don't know where to start
In general, what's the best sites to look for an e-bike?
Budget around 1k
It will probably have to be foldable otherwise it'll just get stolen if I lock it up outside a coffee shop or something.
Thank you (edited)
These cheesy Wotsits you mentioned... at first glance, I thought you were going to say that they could be repurposed as batteries. (They look like Duracell AA's, not just a copper coloured top, so obviously not Zinc). (edited)
2222 cheesy wotsits - now we’re talkin
Seems safer than even bitcoin - but can this last
Any idea where are these stores and where can we check them. Any around Manchester?
I bought 3x 24V ebikes from the one in Walsall for £209.99 each a few weeks ago. One didn't work so I went back to swap it, and all of the ones that I wanted to swap it with were in incredibly poor condition so I just got a refund in the end. Not sure what they do to 'refurbish' the items in their stock, but it wasn't enough for my liking, even at this price.
No (edited)
The extra weight isn't too significant really - ie, I used to regularly ride bikes at 16.5 stone, I now weight 11 stone - that's more than the entire weight of this bike difference.
(edited)
Don't panniers usually come with adapters to allow for different thicknesses?
My Oxford pannier did. It's not ideal for my folding bike though because my (size 12) foot catches it while peddling.
sad but true
10/15 miles on the flat on a good day so dont believe all that cobblers the ebike companies are putting out these days of 30/40/60miles!!! 7aH is poor but at least its 36v -Argos sainsburys these days are crooks so dont expect any warranty (edited)
