200-500miles per chain isn’t normal, my chain doesn’t start showing wear until 2000-3000miles

Just a note, I bought two Shimano Ultegra 11 speed chains on the previous deal (50% off) from Ribble.

They came loose together in a plastic bag, not retail packaging and without any quick links or pins. Ribble explained as they buy in bulk they don’t come with retail packaging which is fine but this wasn’t obvious when purchasing, but they had no spare links. So I returned them, had to pay postage but they will supposedly refund this with proof of purchase. I ended up buying from Wiggle as they had same deal and were retail packed with links.

It’s definitely in stock, but only 0 left, so you’ll have to be really quick

I had to doubletake at the thumbnail - At a glance, I thought they were "beads" of some description!

i gave up checking with a chain tool, i just leave my chain until it slips under load. i just changed a chain that had been on my mtb since 2016, new chain and no slipping when i put force into the pedals. think iv only went through 2 chains in the last 12 years

You're lucky then. By the time it's slipping that usually the chainrings and cassette done.

Budget chain 4.99 seems a fair price wouldn't pay more for SX. Usually comes on new bikes to keep costs down. Mine snapped halfway through a ride. You get what you pay for but if you're on a budget then fair do's.
