You missed out a zero. Europe works on 0.5% or less, but the UK definition of alcohol free is 0.05% or less (see here).

A banana can be up to 0.4% alcohol. A burger bun can be over 1%. There has to be a cutoff, otherwise so many things would have to be labelled.

So you COULD have a vegetarian salad with only a tiny bit of chicken in it?

You’re the only one here waffling on about vegetarianism on a post about drinks.

Big Drop do the best alcohol free beer in my opinion. plus this particular one is gluten free!

Used to only be able to get this brand in Holland and Barrett but pleased it's going mainstream

You can get some good deals via their website also.

    AF what's the point

Lots of people going AF these days. No hangover, less calories, some can't consume alcohol, you can drive if you drink AF, lots of variety and still more coming etc etc

I get what you're going on about but you're going on about it the wrong way.

Vegitarians cannot have meat, they choose to not have meat and follow a vegan or vegitarian lifestyle.

In the same sense, muslims cannot have 0.5% beer because of their religious beleifs and guidence.

As a designated driver, you would have to drink 10 of these to be 5%,but by the time you drink a 0.5% can at a normal pace, it would have no effect on your blood stream, you would have to drink 28 cans within an hour for that to happen.

    Here's some more information - pistonheadlager.com/can-you-get-drunk-on-non-or-low-alcohol/

I'm a big drinker, I've drank over 1000 different beers, craft, lager, stouts, porters, sours, lambics etc etc, love the stuff, but I give myself a break a fair bit over the year too and I often drink non alco's on a weekend instead for a month.

Personally, I've receieved flack, but beer/alco is a sociabile drink and unless you tell people you're drinking non alco, no one seems to have a moan at you on a night out, coke or j2o etc though, you would get rip to shreds. (edited)

On a personal level I'm not a big fan of big drop, if you have it it has to be ice cold, I'm not a big fan of Becks but their non alco taste like Becks and smells like Becks, ghost ship do a great non alco varient too which I actually quite like and probably consider it to be the best. I've had all the big drop stuff even the collabs and for as much as I love what they're doing every beer just seems to miss the mark, but they will get there.

Alco free beer is miles ahead of the game compared to wine however which all of it just taste like juice. Awful stuff and I've tried so many of them as well.

I had high hopes for this (I also got the £15 case offer that a few people have mentioned) but it isn’t great. Beavertown Laser Crush is so much better it’s untrue. That said, for me Guinness 0% is the best out there at the moment; they nailed that one.

Anything below 0.5% is considered AF, I believe it's an EU regulation probably adopted by the UK ,USA and other countries too as I have tried several Americans AF too. Don't be fooled by comparing them to the older 0.0 beers, they're in another league. for sure they will never match a 4/5% but I got interested on these during the first lockdown and I tried at least 40/50 types, this CITRA IPA and the BrewDog AF are still my favourites. BIG DROP does a tasting pack of 8 you can find in amazon which I tried and the Citra won for me hands down. Another thing to consider when it comes to these AF beers is sugar content as some I used to like were packed with sugar and calories, this one not! So it's my daily "healthy" routine to have lunch at work in the canteen with one of these now and I have converted more than one hardcore beer fan. Of course I still like to have a normal beer when I go out but during the week this is my go to as I hate water and this stuff is far more healthy and tasty than any soda or sugary drink!

I got a lot of the info I now know from this website that specialises in AF beers, how they're made, where they come from, and their content as not all AF are the same and there're a few different techniques to make them so several are still done by small companies and in an artisan way, Check it out:

That’s what this stuff is really…. pop.

Fair enough, but it ain’t beer and it shouldn’t be called beer. It’s pop

The AF Erdinger is worth a go. Bristol Brewery Clear Head is decent if you can find it.

None of them truly replace the real thing, but if you're drinking AF you likely don't want everything else that comes with the real thing. It's nice to have instead of water once in a while.

If you have a feeling you drink too much try going sober for 6 months, it's hands down the best thing I've done for myself in my adult life maybe you'll like it too. Or don't 🤷‍♂️ you do you hun x

No, it's not pop. It's brewed like beer, looks like beer, smells like beer and tastes like beer. I'd argue this a is lot more like beer than a 4% Bud.
