Might want to check out a YouTuber called ‘the lock picking lawyer’ before buying a kryptonite lock. (edited)

Most opportunist bike thieves aren't The Lock Picking Lawyer from Youtube.

This is a very good lock at a very good price. Highly rated by most reviewers. Only problem is it's too small and won't fit around my chunky E-bike frame.

I ended up stumping for the ABUS Granit Extreme 59. Apparently best in the business but cost a fair bit unfortunately. Worth the investment though when protecting a £2k+ bike I guess.. (edited)

Should have opted for a Hiplock d1000.
Yes, it's £250 BUT it is THE most grinder attack resistant d-lock around.
Totally worth it for an expensive bicycle/motorbike.

Rated Sold Secure Gold (Bicycle) on the product page. But on Sold Secure's website they mention Diamond

Diamond is new. Locks are retested every year and some are expected to be have their rating increased, when the time comes.

Still can't stop an angle grinder I had one of these locks and another chain on my E bike in the garage and they managed to cut through both locks

litelok just released an angle grinder proof d lock. Looks like other companies will do the same. I think hiplock has one too

Plus if superman turns to small crimes, he sure as hell won't get your bike!

Great lock. I have one about 14 years old, which has locked bikes all over London, sometimes for weeks at a time - it's got a few scars but never been broken into. Small and heavy mind.

The conflict here is that the more you spend on a bike, in part to get a lighter bike, the heavier the lock you'll choose. At over 2kg this a quarter to a fifth the weight of a good road bike.

I don't have the answer to this conundrum - I'm not sure there is one!

I think most people that use these do so to lock up their bikes at home or at work. They live the lock locked in-situ at their place of work rather than carry it around.

I don't carry a lock with me when I go for a ride as I never leave my bike unattended. My bike is always at arms length.

If they want it ,they will take it , regardless

Yep! Some guys round my area were pulling up in a van, jumping out the side with Hydraulic clippers and then gone in the space of a few seconds. No lock would ever stop that.

Ultimately if they want your bike, they can get it. The purpose of a good look for me, is to make the time it would take less attractive, so they nick someone else’s bike with a worse lock

Graphene. Interesting. It's most attractive looking D Lock I've ever seen. Pricey though.

Looks like in terms of angle grinder proof the cheapest one is the litelok x1 at £150.

They're releasing an x3 at £250 so would be interested in how that compares to the hiplock d1000 for the same price.

Just found this video on someone testing the litelok x1:

Just found another video comparing this kryptonite (cut in 30 seconds) and the litelok x1 against the angle grinder!
Think i'll wait for the litelok x3 before I make a decision on which to buy.
