Is this better than the Redmi Note 11 Pro? I've seen some people saying it is. If so, why?
Also, this is a 4G phone, not 5G, correct?
    Thanks!
    chancooluk's avatar
    4G only yes.

Usually the 10 Pro is quite a bit cheaper than the 11 pro.

The 10 Pro has a better SOC (Snapdragon 732G, Vs Helio G96 in 11 pro).

The 10 Pro also has better camera performance, and significantly better video recording, as 4K is supported, whereas the 11 pro tools out at 1080p.

Otherwise the phones are similar. (edited)

You need to do a little babying with this phone (to turn ads off and remove bloat) but that doesn't take long and it's a great buy (bought one for my boyf's mum, she was using an Xperia XA1 acting weirdly with the memory filled to the brim).

Doesn't have optical image stabilisation (on the camera), so you'll need to hold it tight to avoid camera shake, but some video modes have electronic image stabilisation. (edited)

I installed Nikita GCam on this phone. Videos are much improved imo.

This or POCO M4 Pro for £130 from the Amazon deal the other day?
    Deal_searcher's avatar
To be honest they are very similar phones. Can't go wrong with either. I would personally prefer the note 10 pro as it has a better camera and higher refresh rate. Processor wise they are similar albeit the M4 pro is slightly faster opening apps and there was more space and ram.

Anyone know if i can still go thru returns process?

I'll probably bag another one tonight and then if they don't do returns this would make a nice family gift.
    DopeyDunker's avatar
The Mi Store has a 14-day 'no fault' return policy so as long as you've not had it longer than that then you are free to return and buy again. Make sure you return by going through your order on your account and 'after sales service' and they will send you a pre-paid jiffy bag to return in. (edited)

Does anyone know where to find, set and view data usage limits for mobile broadband ? Even tech support could not locate it. I updated to the latest MIUI 13. First Xiaomi phone but my old OPPO A9 2020 had a far better and more intuitive user interface. Also can't see text (it's very dim) in notifications in dark mode. And it drains the battery much faster than the OPPO.

Any good for a 13 year old? Is it simple to use, he currently just has a Samsung. Is it similar to operate please
    deleted2812173's avatar
    Anonymous User
They both use the android operating system, but samsung uses OneUI and Xiaomi phones use MiUI. (UI stands for User Interface). Unless he is absolutely obsessed with tech, he probably won't notice too much of a difference and the phones have broadly the same features.

Worth upgrading from a Note 9 Pro?
    gainsay's avatar
I upgraded and am very happy with the upgrade. Is it a HUGE difference? No ,I don't think so but it is faster and slightly better camera AND security updates for the next two years that have ,I believe, stopped the 9 pro
  20. sam.hkud's avatar
No 5G 👎. UK networks have already started taking bandwidth from 3G and converting to 5G. 4G will toast soon as 5G much more efficient at same bandwidth. Suitable to buy from UK and send to Africa or India where there is no 5G network. (edited)

Don't get 5g outside of London (at least my neck in the woods down in Kent). And when going to London and getting 5g on my phone I can't see any difference when browsing the internet. 4g is fine for streaming any paid/free online video streaming app from my experience. What's the big deal I'm missing from 5g unless you want to download super fast?

How do you get to this price of £114? By referring yourself? Someone please explain?

    Thanks

Its already discounted to 149 on the mi site from midnight. Then there will be (if not already used) a £20 off over £200 purchase (pre discount) coupon then £10 off with the coupon from merb. Then £5 off for buying with the mi store app. £114 (edited)

    Hi mate,

I know they always disclaimer this...

"Note: If you have a minimum of 1000 Mi Points on your account, you can add even further discount at checkout"

But if you have less than 1000 points can you not still redeem them for coupons?

The only thing that puts me off the phone is the camera. It's a heck of a lot of phone, and will do me well as I don't game e.ct but it's just the camera.

I thought about this in detail, when I go on holiday somewhere (either in the UK, or abroad) or even somewhere nice for the day, the moments you capture with your camera are priceless, a one off. I debated using the Xiaomi as a daily, and my pixel 2xl for pictures - but in the real world, who wants to take 2 phones?

I really do love taking pics, just for memories and I mostly keep them to myself via Google photos. I don't really put them on FB or insta that often.

I just don't want to be in the Welsh mountains taking a pic on my Xiaomi, to realise it doesn't look that good. In hindsight, I'd rather pay a little more for a better camera.

My parents have the Xiaomi note pro 8, and it's an amazing phone but pictures aren't as good as my Pixel.

Shame really, as I really am resisting to buy this phone.

To those buying this as a second phone, why do you need a second phone? Convince me please?
    mcada's avatar
You are thinking about phone for around £100, and require to make perfect photos? You get (a little bit more) what you pay for! Don't expect miracles. Using two phones for the situations you mentioned is a pure nonsense. Save more money and get better/higher class phone with better camera or get use to live with photos from cheap phone. This is perfect (one of the best) phone for casual use and undemanding users, with a price that reflects many compromises. It's definitely not a "photo mobile". Gone are the days most of us were carrying two devices - a phone and a camera.
  26. Firemountain's avatar
This or Google pixel 6a? Help! So confused
    Sir_Didymus's avatar
Pixel 6a all day long if you need a clean OS with regular updates and a wonderful camera.

This uses Virtual Proximity Sensing rather than the more common hardware proximity sensor. I've read about the phone turning the screen on during calls and in the pocket and having random inputs. Can any owners comment on how this is with the Note 10 Pro?
    LaurenceGough's avatar
Avoid. Xiaomi have finally started fitting a proper proximity sensor again now (but not in this model) which I find quite hilarious. Clearly it didn't work right. I could have told them that from the start but I guess they tried penny pinching or didn't want to slow down due to any chip shortage... The Poco F3 for me was completely ruined due to not knowing if it was in your pocket or not (also not great in calls etc).

I am really glad as when I am due my next phone in proably quite a few years now I'll consider Xiaomi again. (edited)

Does samsung pay work on these phones?? And can you connect up samsung 4 smart watch?? :/

Xiaomi have Google pay on this though and is far superior IMHO.

Yes the watch will connect over Bluetooth. (edited)

There isn't really much to debloat. A few mi apps and that's it, most of them are actually useful in particular the cleaner app works well.

Not a lot is it? Unless I'm missing something else?

What do you think @MrSwitch is it worth waiting, do you think it might come down before Christmas? My nerves are shot as it's a lot of money isn't it. The camera is the main thing really. Thanks for any advice! (edited)

I'd hold. I would have thought they'd have pushed it on the run up to BF.
