Can you get Google Apps on it?
    LGr's avatar
Yes, just a reminder for Google Apps:
    Honor ✅️
    Huawei ❌️

Even if you don't remember which one is which, just look at the name itself, one is "English" and the other one is "Chinese".

Got this with my Honor Magic 4 Pro, it's a nice tab, smooth, runs lovely for basic browsing, note making, video watching etc. Haven't put it through much more than that, battery life is immense.
    BadGoy's avatar
Note making with a stylus? Could you recommend one?

£204 from Honor with the flip case and there's 8% tcb
    idbuythatforadollar's avatar
Hiii. How do you get it with the case?
  4. twodoctors's avatar
It's only £10 cheaper than Argos.

It's got Snapdragon 680, and 4Gb ram. That's budget Android phone spec but now running a bigger screen (and more pixels). It's not going to be snappy. 12" screen is nice I guess.
    Mr.Nutts's avatar
This is only a fraction above Full HD, it’s be fine.

Just a heads-up. I bought this tablet yesterday and am having to return it which is a real shame. The tablet is fantastic in every area but one (the processor). Build quality, screen, speakers are all excellent but that processor is a joke in 2023. None of my h.265 plex movies will stream (they do on other tablets) and game streaming on moonlight will stutter unless you drop the bitrate right down to 10mb and even then the audio is out. The Samsung S7 for example (I know it's much more expensive) will breeze 150mb all day long. Even zipping through the home screen is a little laggy, but it's ok. Netflix, sky, disney etc etc is fantastic though so if all you want is a tablet for media, then this is great.
    BucketMan's avatar
Why do you think it chokes on the h265s, what's special about them? Has it not got hardware decoding support? Is it a networking issue?
  6. koalauk's avatar
At this price it's excellent. Bought one before Xmas and really happy with the gorgeous big screen and does everything I needed it for

Bought this at 223 just before Christmas and it's an excellent tablet !!!

Is this better than the Xiaomi Redmi Pad 4GB 128GB?
Any issues with Google apps? (edited)
    twodoctors's avatar
If you believe this benchmark, then the CPU in the Xiaomi is better.

If youre going to use this more than just tv and browsing you will probably want minimum 256gb unless youre happy to use external storage
  10. chrisbluebird's avatar
I have one of these, use it for watching sports on. Bought it around the time of the world cup and used all the streaming apps and it was flawless. I now use it for sky go and BT sport and the picture quality and sound is brilliant. I can't comment on anything else but if you want to use it for media streaming then it's perfect!!

If it had HDR/Dolby Vision for Netflix et al , I would of snapped this up straight away

Ideal for my Readly magazine sub
    hcc27's avatar
Try Pressreader through the local library. I found that all the mags I paid for via Readly are free on Pressreader, including What hi-fi, What Car, Fortune, the Economist, WSJ etc etc. Most people have no idea of the digital goodies offered free via libraries.

And agree this would be ideal for mags given screen size.

Thanks OP, heated and nabbed one yesterday before they went OOS. Now need to come up with another excuse for the OH for yet another tablet 😃 (edited)

I'd have bought this if it were LTE/5G.
Instead gone for Samsung galaxy tab A8 LTE. Not too bad for Sky Go or web browsing. Speakers are excellent though!

I've never owned a tablet, but have an oled screen that I love on a phablet. Are there any cheapish tablets with great screens and speakers?
  29. bennowell's avatar
Would anyone recommend a compatible keyboard for this?
Want to use it as a on the move work device so keen for a keyboard or keyboard cover and was hoping for recommendations

For anyone tgat has this ir has used it - Hows this for art using a stylus? Thanks
    hornsby's avatar
I'd imagine you can use a stylus, as they imitate the touch of the human finger the same with any touch screen out there. I may be wrong, though.
  34. Ray.Khan's avatar
Great price. Thanks Op. Heated and Ordered
  35. titch04's avatar
Anyone recommend if you can write on it etc with a stylus or that
  36. Shiresean's avatar
Maybe this is a silly question but if you wanted to extend storage why could you not put a USB C storage stick on it?
    hornsby's avatar
Port could only be for Charging not data transfer?
  37. Shiresean's avatar
Also does anyone know how this compares to the HONOR Pad X8?
    Deal_searcher's avatar
I think this is larger tablet and better built. But I am asking the question as well and why this deal is so hot
  38. Aiadi's avatar
Not worth it if something goes wrong and you want to return. Much rather deal with Amazon despite all their problems.
  39. kingcr33ch's avatar
    Ordered yesterday, cheers OP.

Anybody know what charging cable i'd need for a longer version, will any fast charge do the job? Thanks for any help
