    Mentioned this in another thread:

For those who are in Community Fibre areas they are poaching Virgin customers and offering people up to 1 year free broadband and 1gbps speed. Of course offers may vary but worth trying

The trick is to fill out the details form with your contact details on their site but not proceed with order and sales will call back with better deal. (edited)

    Tried, he offered 3 months.

Said with 3+ months he would need to ask his manager and 6+ months they make no commission. So he doesn't offer it to many.

And 12 months.. Well they do it. But idk how you would get someone to give it to you.

And to clarify thats broadband only, not landline.  (edited)

Just a note, packages below 500Mbps use CGNAT.

Been using for about 6 months now. Really good service, 10000x better than Virgin. We’re on the 1gbs package at 30 a month.

Only criticism was that the install was a bit rushed and I wasn’t overly impressed with the quality (cabling and drilling). Ended up redoing majority myself.
    tammma's avatar
better yet, I saved the guy from drilling at all!

I told him to take off the VM face plate, cut off the virgin crimped coax, pull it out and then just feed the fibre through their already pre-drilled hole.

They loved it because it saved them time.

Dear mods, please can you ensure that these London only deals have this reflected in the title?

    London only

Been with CF since December and been really impressed with the service. When I signed up I got a 500mb line for just under £19 which was way over a third of the price I was paying for my BT service. Speeds are fantastic on the service most noticeably the upload speeds.

Pop your postcode in on their website to be notified when they are in your area. But yes, does seem to be only filtering out to London postcodes at the moment.

Ironically since CF started serving the area here in December we've had BT sales people knock on the door at least twice.

Virgin is so bad I have so many issues with it while gaming, especially pings are so bad

Using your own router helps a lot, which does a auto reset at a chosen time.

Agreed vm service is very intermittent constant issues

At some point these will be reliable enough and cheap enough that they will sway me from 5G broadband for the house
  11. andiron87's avatar
Cold from me, signed up recently on 24m deal and already they raised the price by nearly 20%. If inflation stays the same it will be £28 next year, £33 year later..
There is a few providers who don't increase costs every year.
    charlie12's avatar
If you joined after 1 January 2023 then your first year's payments should not change - contact them if so.

49782342-vnH03.jpgSpeak for youself about slow speeds. Note this is on the second router connected via ethernet. Don't expect these speeds on wifi.
    tammma's avatar
interesting - when I am on the CF linksys router and do the speed test, I get 900+ similar. But both my phone and linksys are on wifi 6.

I then use my netgear router which is plugged into the linksys CF box and do the test and get about 150-290meg. Part of the problem is that my older netgear router is wifi 5 only.

So you cant just blame a crap speed test on virgin..you have to look at your entire set up.

I get 40-60meg in the diagonally farthest part of the house from the linksys router over a cheap wifi 5 (tenda) mesh atm.

The bottleneck clearly is NOT CF, but my tenda mesh which I will be promptly binning and replacing with several more linksys nodes...

24 month contract isn't good if you get a bad service something that may not be immediately noticable.....
  14. mhasan's avatar
I got 500Mbps during their Black Friday offer £18.75p/m.
Had some minor issues during installation , but connection has been fast and stable since then.

Note in many areas the cable is routed overhead from the old BT posts. (edited)

You can leave community fibre for free when they increase prices, right?

    No

Looking forward when the roll out to my area. Virgin just hiked my price mid-contract by 30%! How do they justify that?!
  18. ax4132's avatar
I just renewed my contract with them from 800 (£35/ month) to 920 Mbps. They agreed to £25/month over the phone for a 24 month contract, but no Amazon gift cards (new customers only). They’re also upgrading the old router with the Linksys Wifi 6 router. And I never had any issues with them

I just wish I could get any fibre at all.. apparently it's 'lost' somewhere between our house and next door. The new builds opposite can get VM, we can't on this side. Oh and BT is going up by £9 at the end of the month. Great
  20. benoreno's avatar
Hmm, I'm on 1gpbs for £25pm from them , this doesn't seem too hot
    iby2012's avatar
Yeah, will get the time machine out, for Aug 22.
Haven't seen that deal since. But I guess good to know.
  21. Ahnaf_Mohammed's avatar
I was able to get 6 months free on a 12 month contract 1gb for £25 with no set up fee, u need to sign detail on their website but not go through with your purchase and see if they call you back, if they do then you are most likely able to get a nice deal
  22. ZxH49's avatar
Tied but they wouldn't give me any good deals. Wasn't willing to offer any Amazon voucher, only 3 months free. Would be paying more than my Virgin deal (£24 for 500mb + a landline vs. £27 for 1GB no landline) and I don't need the extra speed or the faff of switching. Will try again once my contract is up this time next year.
  23. nickwillis1's avatar
I just had to take out 4G broadband with EE for £50 pm for 30mb/s because my only other option is 6mb/s.

I wish I had the money for Starlink.

    Hi guys ,

Im strongly advice every one her.

please do not join Community fibre.
Im a customer with them from 9 month ago with 920Mbps . And i live in central London NW1 5NT.

but the speed i got only between 30 Mbps to 100 Mbps, I complain to them several time but they did nothing , I can confirm they are a dodgy company.

this the speed test from Okla app, recommended by Community fibre.

Also i join them because they told me they do not increase the fees durnig the contract.
but they send to me an email inform me they will increase the fees from £35 to £38.50.

so they are breaching the contract terms and condition.

i want leave these dishonest community fibre company but i do not how.Any advice guys will be appreciated49764894-xnKBd.jpg49764894-KbGcE.jpg

1 Bar WiFi, how far are you from the router? Not really a fair test if ur standing as far away from it as you can.

Lots of people have posted good things but yeah, I think this year was the first with the price rise, although yours is "just" 10% and Virgin is 17%. (edited)

has anyone taken out a landline with community fibre? how long did it take to port over the number? and does the old service need to be running while the port happens?

rang community fibre and they said it does need to be running and can take up to 12 working days (which is half a month), wondering if i do have to pay for half a month of virigin media and not be using it

Edit: someone at virign admitted they could save the number and keep it active for 30 days for the port. All sorted, hopefully. (edited)

Anyone know if you can update to the Wifi 6 router with more Ethernet ports?

They supplied me one with 2 ports, but one is occupied with a bloody modem, so I only have one port to use..
    tammma's avatar
you have to sign up to the 1meg deal for the wifi 6 MX4200 model. Its got 4x gigabit ports.
