LG OLED55G26LA

Brightness Booster Max
Heightening the vivid beauty of LG OLED self-lit pixels. Brightness Booster Max takes refinements by the α9 Gen 5 AI processor to the next level, delivering up to 30%2 more luminance. Now, visuals look bolder with superior light efficiency.

Beyond black, super black
Self-lit pixels turn themselves on and off without a backlight, so dark areas stay dark as onyx and brights are exceptionally light.

A true representation of colour
No distortion. No exaggeration. With natural hues that match the original source content, LG OLED panels are certified by Intertek for 100% Colour Fidelity* vs. traditional LCDs, which reach between 70 - 80%3.

Enter a new colour dimension
From the darkest night scene to the brightest frames, every hue within the 3D color space covers the television's full luminance range. This achievement of 100% Colour Volume* was certified by Intertek.

Even after an epic movie marathon, eyes feel fresh. OLED emits a non-harmful
amount of blue light and is Flicker Free certified by UL for removing screen flashes that cause eye strain. Bright and tiring glare is also eliminated with Discomfort Glare Free verification** from UL.

I wanted to answer my question above just encase anyone else is looking; I got this deal specifically because it came with the soundbar (and it looks good matched with the TV), which I hoped would be a suitable replacement for my 6YO Samsung, which has served me well

I'm unimpressed with the soundbar; if anything, it was a downgrade on what my previous samsung soundbar produced; it is meant to be an £800 soundbar, which I know is overpriced, but even if it were half that value (which you can find), I would be disappointed. The sound is fine, but not great and in some cases, it comes across as tinny. When there is a lot happening (like on big noise scenes - my first use was with the final episode of Stranger Things which really throws a lot at you) everything sounds messy.

It's not that it's bad - watching anything on standard TV was fine (although I'm not sure teh AI voice detection was doing anything); it's just it's not really complimenting the fantastic TV especially when watching movies

It's also worth noting that I think that LG has discontinued the rear speakers; no retailers sell them, and you can find them but seems limited. This to me shows a lack of commitment from LG - finding anything online about these speakers is hard, and really seems to exist just to act as a promotional item.

In the end, I've chosen to pack it up and will sell it; I bought a Samsung HW-Q990B, which is just absolutely fantastic; I know you can't really compare both due to the price difference, but it's worth completing the TV with a decent set of speakers, and even if that, not the HW-Q990B, then I'm certain that there are cheaper alternatives that are far better than the LG G1

The TV is simply incredible - I was a tad wary when first switching it on as it was way too vivid for me, but tweaking the settings to what was suggested online and then some personal tweaks and it looked great, but what really elevated it was watching material in Dolby Vision - that is an incredible viewing experience! I love it - highly recommend

Whilst this is the best deal on paper, I would avoid it. I would highly suggest talking to your local Richer Sounds and negotiating based on "not wanting" the speaker; they really are great to deal with (edited)

What do we think of this price? Think it will go any lower over the next few weeks for the 65 inch?

I’d like this without the sound bar. So something around the 1600 mark

With the mount making the tv flush against the wall what is everyone doing about cabling?

I bought a set of cable ducts from Amazon that should hopefully disguise it nicely

Just wondered if anyone actually has the LG G1 Sound Bar? There is very little reviews of it online which is a tad strange; for a £800 soundbar I would exspect it be fantastic compared to my 6YO samsung soundbar, but are they considored any good compared to others?

Also - am I right in presuming that these will work in conjunction with the TV speakers for 5.1? (edited)
