The sound is fine, but not great and in some cases, it comes across as tinny. When there is a lot happening (like on big noise scenes - my first use was with the final episode of Stranger Things which really throws a lot at you) everything sounds messy.
It's not that it's bad - watching anything on standard TV was fine (although I'm not sure teh AI voice detection was doing anything); it's just it's not really complimenting the fantastic TV especially when watching movies
It's also worth noting that I think that LG has discontinued the rear speakers; no retailers sell them, and you can find them but seems limited. This to me shows a lack of commitment from LG - finding anything online about these speakers is hard, and really seems to exist just to act as a promotional item.
In the end, I've chosen to pack it up and will sell it; I bought a Samsung HW-Q990B, which is just absolutely fantastic; I know you can't really compare both due to the price difference, but it's worth completing the TV with a decent set of speakers, and even if that, not the HW-Q990B, then I'm certain that there are cheaper alternatives that are far better than the LG G1
The TV is simply incredible - I was a tad wary when first switching it on as it was way too vivid for me, but tweaking the settings to what was suggested online and then some personal tweaks and it looked great, but what really elevated it was watching material in Dolby Vision - that is an incredible viewing experience! I love it - highly recommend
Whilst this is the best deal on paper, I would avoid it. I would highly suggest talking to your local Richer Sounds and negotiating based on "not wanting" the speaker; they really are great to deal with (edited)
Also - am I right in presuming that these will work in conjunction with the TV speakers for 5.1? (edited)
