I highly suggest that you register your interest based on my experience. I gave them my address etc and when Community Fibre came to my area a sales person came to my door. I wasn't in but he left a card where he simply wrote "9 months free". Called him a few weeks later and he told me the deal was no longer available....it was now 12 months free. I'm on 500mbs, 24m contact, 12m free, £23pm.

There is only one thing I didn't know going in. The fibre cable they install in your house does not bend round corners because it is glass and light. In the end they installed the router in the front of the house instead towards the back where most of my stuff was plugged in using ethernet cables. But the WiFi is pretty good, it's a linksys.

They ran a 10 m extension fibre from the socket in front of the house to at least the middle part where the old BT socket was.

This extension goes straight in the modem and next to it we have the router.

This helps me get good signal all around the house (edited)

Give them a call. They offered me 9 months free to match the promo price.
They install their own line, so you can have a bit of overlap to make sure you don't have any days without internet.

The service has been great! Took 2 hours to install on the day and gave me a phone call the next day to make sure it's running fine.

They provide a Linksys spnmx42, but this is an ISP only model number, think it's this:
    amazon.co.uk/dp/…c=1

BT didn't even try to compete. BT do have good customer service, but they are nowhere near the prices of Community Fibre.

Maybe I’ve misunderstood, but how you manage to get 9 months free?
  3. Lloydinio's avatar
Good deal but sometimes the 24 month contract works out better overall

Community Fibre is unbelievably good. Not had a single problem in three years, and all speedtests are always at 920-950Mbps, and Steam/Xbox/Origin/Epic download that fast as well.

Moved to this from BT. A massive difference between (BT) 80Mbs and 920Mbs for half the price!!!

Registered my interest 2 years ago, but no one has any idea when itmight be available.

A bit of a clickbait, still.

I mean it covers most of the busy London parts.. its a long way away from being made available outside of London I reckon. They are expanding slowly and I see their purple uniform guys door knocking everywhere I have been with them for nearly 3-4 years now. My broadband has been down around 3 times in that time for probably like 2 hours max. Went down about 15 mins last week while I wasnt working from home.. gutted :p. I am paying £36 a month though.... I need to do something about that!

Do all broadband providers increase their prices around April each year? Or is it just BT?
    broke_with_expensivetaste's avatar
Alot of providers do but community fibre don't. I've had them for 2 years and now on my 3rd year
  8. mwalke36's avatar
Had a rep come to the door this week who offered me 920 Mbps for £29 a month on a 24 month contract with 6 months free. He even said I could have 3000Mpbs if I wanted which is a little OTT.

Got some deal on here around black Friday currently have 500mbps for £18.75 a month

They’ve put the equipment half way up on our telegraph pole months ago with a massive looping cable. Think they’ve forgotten to come back.

Lol they've done the same thing to the pole opposite me.
  11. coco_cool's avatar
Great service. Been with them over a year, the connection and speed are solid.

Same. The houses in the middle of my street, which includes me, don't have access yet, but all the other houses on the street do. Annoying
  13. Soni210's avatar
Interesting the expected speeds are identical even if package is 1 gb or 3gb or 500 mb
    Superficial's avatar
Are you talkin about the wifi speeds? the Wired speeds will be as advertised.

Nothing you can do about the wifi unless you supply your own equipment.

Can vouch for community fibre, have had it for around 3 years now, never given me problems. I’m pretty sure hyperoptic is also just as reliable. If you are with bt, sky, virgin I suggest you make the switch, you will see a huge difference.

I was on 300mbps for 24 months £25pm and the contract ended last week. I think first 3 months were completely free too.
I called up CF and spoke with Loyalty team and to continue on same contract it was £27pm due to CPI increase.

I was offered two options for 24m contract.
    500 mpbs for £23 + 7 months free and wifi 5 router
    1000mbps for £25 + 6 months free and wifi 6 router.

I took the 1000mpbs contract and she upgraded me on the spot and then new shiny wifi 6 router arrived next morning. (I have not even opened it, still using the old one). I then downloaded steam games at 900-950mbps. I had to disable my ac wifi cos it cant take advantage of the high speeds and laid a cat 6 cable from modem to my PC.
Speedtest on PC shows 920mbps up and down approx.

Its so good! I love CF!

In last 2 years, i think we lost internet once or twice and that was due to damage under the road and it was back up a few hours later. (edited)

Lucky you, Im due for renewal and called but only got offered 1000mbps for £27pm 24months, no free 6 months. I'll have to try again through cancellations and hopefully get what you got.

When I told Virgin the deal Community Fibre offered me, Virgin tried to scare me by saying that they use refurbished fibre cables for their broadband. If anyone has had bad experience it would be good to hear it. By the sounds of it, it's worth jumping ship when my contract ends. (edited)
    Raaawr's avatar
The guy who installed mine told me they use fibre all the way but virgin only do it up to the cabinet. Not sure what the issue with refurbished cables would be. I'm with them and the speed is better than virgin and it's cheaper.
  17. Norcino's avatar
I booked the installation on a Saturday morning, but was sunny so no one came, no messages nothing.
I called no one apologized, the next available slot was too late for me, my virgin contract was ending 3 days before. So cancelled community fiber, and rang virgin, which gave me a 1gps for £38 with 18 months contract, better this way.
  18. Shamsbo's avatar
I’ve been with them since Easter, really good, get around 930Mbps, plus the representative gave me 12 months free to leave my ISP 50173487-X3pFB.jpg

Shame it's London only. Very good deal!
  20. tonywy's avatar
Reported by ISPreview to be expanding into parts of Essex, Herts and Surrey but there are many London postcode areas which they haven't touched (e.g. mine )
    sasuke0's avatar
I don't understand their decision making its very random. They cover both tower blocks and houses, but completely dismiss some areas (edited)

not in my area yet, but coming soon apparently!

Got this installed 4 days ago. I was with Sky for 9.5 years, to renew they said £54 a month (500mb broadband + phone line + wifi boost).

CF offered 1gb + phone line + WiFi in every room for essentially £34 a month over the 24 month contract.

I made the switch and they give 60 day trial.

So far solid speeds and the router seems solid

Very good deal, waited awhile for similar deal but nothing came up so settled for the 500mbps for £18.95. Got £120 cashback and 5month free.
Cashback paid 3 week ago(4m wait) and still not paid any bills yet, just coming up to my 5th month and got email saying direct debit payment will start soon.
connection and customer service is awesome.

How did you manage to get cashback with free months? I thought the free months usually provided by the reps

Was with vodafone for a number of yours on their 70 Mbps service and had no issues with gaming and stuff. As they were putting their price up I have moved to Community fibre with their 150mbps and feel havent really able to game on the computer as I feel it kinda lags.

Not sure whether they are throttling something to not allow gaming or not.

You do get the advertised speed and wifi and wired is same speed.

Also beware that on the 150mbps speed your router has only one ethernet Usb so make sure you buy a four way ethernet dongle/splitter if you need more than one.

Also luckily my old belkin wifi extender works with their router so didnt need to splash extra money on their extenders. albeit I get half the speed its fine for me.

Overall quiet happy with speeds and stuff and mobile gaming is fine and multiple wifi devices work as intended.

1000/1000 and pretty much rock solid. Installers were excellent. Was £25 pcm now up to about £28 with RPIX rise.

Registered interest in my area as it appears they are going to be installing in my area...

Shame though because I've had to renew my Virgin contract this month.
1GB line for £41 a month.. which is decent in Virgin prices lol!
  27. jp3434's avatar
Does anyone know if they will buy you out of an existing contract? I’m on a 24m contract at 70mbps with 12m to go. CF has just landed on my street and I’m willing to give them a spin given all the positive comments on here.
  28. xiaoxigua's avatar
Just received sales phone call and email regarding CF service is alive in my area today after the installation 2 months ago. But have contract remaining for 7 months to go with Vodafone. Don’t know whether early terminate with Vodafone.
