How does it stack up against plewis' recent deal scoring thousands of heat? Sorry on tablet ... Hate these things for typing etc

They are different market segments. The Lenovo will probably beat this on performance and has newer hardware which is why it did so well, it's more comparable to the ASUS Vivobook Pro and S series for quality and build. The ASUS Zenbook is meant to be better build quality (dubious though as I really don't rate them at all for QC or support), premium metal body, has touchscreen and their OLEDs are some of the best in any laptops right now (also higher resolution and 90Hz) - the comparable Lenovo would be the Slim or Yoga 7 series.

2880x1800 bit of a funny resolution

I have this laptop and the screen is excellent, however, the touchscreen has stopped working twice.
Not sure if it's following an update, but despite traying all the trouble shooting I have done, it's still not working.
The first time it came back by itself, so fingers crossed it will sort itself out soon.
Just to be aware, although I can't find that this issue is widespread.

That’s a software related issue, mostly to do with Windows.

Anyone looking for an alternative: there is an AMD Yoga 7 Gen 8 with a 7735U processor. Performance wise it is similar but more efficient (heat+battery). Also far better iGPU for gaming. Screens and Ram are the same. 1TB SSD

It is £150 more. But you can get £43 cashback via TopCashBack. Also possible to get some reward points, not sure how much on the Lenovo website so don't forget to register before buying:

Edit: Seems £42 worth of reward points on top to use on your next purchase. (edited)

I've had this laptop since last August.

Great laptop for the money. Not great battery life but good enough. Love the design and the screen.

Battery life seemed pretty great to me. Imo, only MacBooks outperform these.

How comparable would this and the AMD Ryzen 5 version be in terms of performance, battery, heat and longevity?

I’ve been eyeing up a MacBook Air M2 for those reasons but either of these Zenbooks would be about £300 cheaper…

Apologies this is off topic but does anyone have some recommendations for a pretty cheap used 17" laptop I might find on gumtree or ebay and so on? £200 - £250 is my limit. I'd like an i5, SSD & 8gb. (edited)

is this I5 a significant jump on the 11th gen it seems? seems this CPU is very good for the price
    fishmaster's avatar
The CPU is decent in this and comparable to mid range AMD / Intel desktop CPUs.
