sorted byThey just lower the value of the offerings to claw the money back. That way they can boast a high user base comparable with other consoles and hope that they pick up additional sales with DLC on the included GPU games and the online sales of games leaving the service.
Just a theory of course. Bound to get a lot of flack from the diehards, but a lot of you are no doubt seeing the quality and value drop in the last 12 months like I did before cancelling my sub. I just buy the games I want instead now when they're on offer. (edited)
Good advert right there
Hypnospace Outlaw - 83% (Opencritic)
Rune Factory 4 Special - 82% (Opencritic)
The Big Con - 75% (Opencritic)
Stacking - 84% (Metacritic)
The quality is there amongst the filler, the whole point of Game Pass is to discover new things to enjoy.
The worst generation for gaming without a doubt (edited)
Ao stacking here i come, once i beat Immortals Fenyx rising of course, so many games so little time.
A LOT is riding on Starfield being amazing. Because the stuff they've been betting on this year have all been "meh" with the exception of the left field surprise that was Hi-Fi Rush.
Hi-Fi Rush was excellent, definitely a highlight and one I'd forgot about. Not a first party title though, and the third party offerings have dwindled considerably since they threw all of the Bethesda catalogue on there.
Not sure why so many people overhype Game Pass, can only assume they're the usual rabid fanboys. It's exactly the same proposition as an all-you-can-eat restaurant. Food with a poor quality standard, and lots of it. You feel like you're getting an amazing deal but in reality it's the owner that's taking your pants down. At the end you're left with a painful time on the toilet the next morning.
It was great when they kept throwing £1 trials at me, and you could get a month for £3 on CDkeys, but even then I think I only ever used it for Destiny 2 and it's expansions when it was on. Used it for the Halo Infinite campaign, but virtually every other game has been uninstalled after half an hour or so due to either technical issues or the game itself just not being very good.
Didn't even bother to install Redfall, Microsoft's first party efforts are an absolute mess. I'd honestly trust them less than Blizzard/Activi$ion when it comes to managing WoW/Diablo etc.
Probably late 2023 or early 2024.
Anything worth trying?
Well I am not a "buffet"-guy, so you'll probably never convince me. A la carte all the way.
The rest however, is indeed guff. (not bad games per se, just poor additions) (edited)
