I've been looking for a dump and go camping toilet since my other one leaks and if you have a Go Outdoors card I don't think you can do better for £11.20.

The grey one that looks like a toilet 'might be' better for you if you have the space but the black one is higher and doesn't take up as much room (& can be still used as a bucket) It's also quite stable and comfortable, and is perfect for an emergency plop.

Oh and remember to get some biodegradable bags so you can bury it.

Nah your harris doesn't sit right on a bucket & I've tried a few trying to be cheap. This actually cradles your bottom and it feels very warm and comfortable (which when you are trying to curl one out is what you want/need)

Obvioulsy results may differ if you are a large person as I'm 6.1 85k.

We have a similar camping loo to this and without doubt it is the best bit of camping equipment I have ever bought. The luxury of not having to truge to the toilet block in the middle of the night is emence.

Yes, but on the other hand, my family get woken up at 3am to the sound and silhouette of me taking a 25 minute poop in the middle of the tent...

Who is this for? It seems to me that most people in the UK either camp at an official site with toilet facilities, or hike and wild camp (not carrying a toilet bucket!). Vans, motorhomes etc are sorted already. Are people car camping off grid?

A lot of camping stuff seems to fall into this category of being unnecessary for campsite campers and impractical to carry for hikers.

I take mine to festivals, amazing in the middle of the night after a few drinks and you don't want to run the guy rope gauntlet

Wood cat litter pellets and a bag work well with these type of travel toilets.

My god, the handle so you can carry it around - where are you going to take it? Just do us all a favour and dig a hole.

I won't be taking it anywhere as I'll be using it in the van.

Also without being too graphic, what if you're crouching over your dug hole and you have a splatter attack or it drops into your pants? I'm quite prone to sudden 4 minute warning attacks and have backed up to trees to stop the fallout (like sitting on a chair) but if you get that urge you might not be fortunate enough to be in an area where you can dig a hole and not be seen (I know I'd be crying by then with full pants)

How deep is this toilet. Just wondering if it would withstand the aftermath of a XL kebab and chips.

Normally can't you squat and dig a hole? It'll be unhygienic to wash that out unless you use bleech.

There's a lot to be said for popping a few "Acute Diarrhea" tables before such a trip to "stop" any unwanted emergencies.

My take on these portable toilets / buckets is they're very useful. But we only use ours for pees. Sticking a camping porta pottie inside one of those utility tents very useful if don't want to use main shower / wc blocks if late at night . But if space is limited in van , then this cheapo version is still a good option.
